i know we had a huge thread about this but i thought i would share. back in Nov. i got a quote for my 05 xb and my 09 cr for about $950 which was $500 more than it was with the 99 superhawk that i traded in. i was just got an email that said my rate dropped. so i called up to find out how much and they said, with $500 ded, for both bikes $594. SWEEEEEET!!! this is with progressive, by the way.

anyone else experiance this?

Froggy, have you tried Dairyland insurance? Full coverage with low deductibles for my 1125R, Daytona 675 and CBR600F2 went from almost $1200 to just over $600 per year by switching from Progressive to Dairyland.

I'm only 25, single, and pay around $50 a month for full coverage through State Farm. That's on my 09' 1125CR

$391 per year for PIP on the X-1 and 1125r through Foremost Insurance. I'm thinking about getting replacement coverage on the 1125r...it seems to get more action.

Some days I hate being Canadian. I'll be paying $1435 for my 1125R. Disgusting.

Progressive quoted me $2200 a couple weeks ago despite my already having my Katana with them (at $250/yr). Geico was less than half that. Seemed to me Progressive didn't want to insure certain bikes.

Progressive dropped my rate by about 30% this renewal. $638 a year, still more than the 12R was, but much more reasonable.

Froggy, I've had Progressive before and they've taken care of me, but in order for you to "get your money's worth" out of them while paying a couple thousand dollars a year, you must make a lot of claims (or at least a few expensive ones) in order to come out "ahead".

Sure, they may be taking care of you, but if they're charging you an arm and a leg for it, are they REALLY taking care of you? Especially considering that you might get just as good of service elsewhere for a lot less money?

I pay about $1100 a year for full coverage on the 1125 and liability only on my 1978 XS 650. My deductibles are higher than I would like, but I am only 25 and single, so it is expected.

Progressive quoted about $1400/yr for the 1125R as they consider it a performance bike - strangely, the 1125CR is not considered a performance bike and rates are quite a bit less. I ended up with Farmers on the 1125R at about $400/yr.

insuring a hot bike at under 25 years old WILL be spendy, regardless of record. You're just too big a risk. Too many 17-25 year olds get crunched unfortunately. It sucks, but that is one of the few advantages we of advanced age have over you young bucks....
