I had some carbon fiber pieces made for my 1125CR. I looked for a instrument cowl, no luck so I had a cf cover made for the cowl by someone I know. There are a lot of turns, etc and I kind of cut short the project for another reason so I settled on the cover. It really looks great. The second piece is the exhaust cover, I got it back unfinished,I rubbed it out with a Farecla cutting compound followed by a Meguiars polishing compound and just for fun a non abrasive polish and color enhancer by DoDoJuice. It came out beautiful. I've been testing the DoDoJuice product and so far it performs excellent, even on the impregnated materials.   (Message edited by JohnnyS999 on February 08, 2010) | ||

Nice. You can get a boatload more carbon fiber parts from American Sportbike (http://americansportbike.com/). I believe they're sponsors, too, and I've had nothing but good stuff to say about them. Here's my road bike with their parts on it.  | ||

Socalbuellriders, thanks for posting. I was curious what an all CF bike would look like. That's fantastic looking. But not at all cheap. I think it runs around $2500 ish to do the whole thing. | ||

Price is the main reason why I opted for another source. The Buell stuff is limited supply and expensive with no used market available. Buellblastrider, your right, however its the R model. Speaking of carbon, it has a lot of stock and aftermarket carbon. Tank is the only non carbon body panel on it. 03 gave you the tail, Ducati deleted that in 05. It has magnesium bits too, headlight bucket and I added the magnesium valve covers that the 05 model got.  Man, is it me, are the Buell female threads weak? I striped two of them putting the airbox and seat back after de-noiding the bike. I noticed the threads are very soft, slight angle with the bolt and their striped. Johnnys999, How much did your friend end up charging you. I had a project idea. I was going to do it myself, making a mold off of OEM parts as a template and then fiber glassing the part off of the mold. However, if your friend will take side work and is reasonable, I know oxymoron out of carbon, I'd be interested. Btw, very nice looking part! It's small enough to not succumb to being over the top bling, like some many other applications of carbon. Thanks, Jay | ||

I forgot about the fact carbon also comes in other colors. The instrument cluster cowl cover would look trick in either silver or blue for the white CR and red or black for the red CR. I'm going to look into this and maybe I can come up with a red or silver prototype cover. BTW, heres a close up of the cover.  | ||

Has anyone seen the Rizoma lights on an R replacing the stock signals and using barend mirrors? I find the stock mirrors to be useless but I feel better knowing the LEDs are on them nice and bright. I was wondering the same thing Kc. I am considering doing that to mine. The stock mirrors are great signals but between the position and the vibration don't do very well as mirrors. I would love to see some pics as well. | ||

I can't really see the block-offs/signals that well though. I had also considered "naked" mirrors similar to the stock CR mirrors instead of bar ends. Maybe something custom like the BS183 from Rizoma. Not sure I really like the look/idea of the bar ends. Anyone put "naked" mirrors on their R? | ||

I can answer Kc10_fe's question whether the Rizomas are plug and play. Yes they are. Very easy to install on the CR model since the connectors for the stock set up are behind the flyscreen. The Rizomas have their own black box in line with the wiring, probably their ballast. On the CR I prefer the bar end mirrors, not the heavy and not good looking mirrors that came with the bike. Bar ends look more "streetfighter". However, on the R bike I like the look look of the stock mirrors or some configuration like it that actually allows you to see behind without vibration. Another advantage of the Rizomas I installed is the fact they have a circular shaped magnified center plastic that intensifies the signal light, plus the back end of the light is not blacked out, it shoots light backwards and sideways as well, in conjunction with your stock rear turn indicators. This is a nice safety feature. I like the fact having a turn indicator that is visible to cars to your right and left, showing them of your intention to change lanes. On top of all these great safety points, the Rizomas look cool too.  (Message edited by JohnnyS999 on February 16, 2010) | ||

Any BadWeb sponsors carry the Rizoma Zero 11 Turn signals? Keep it in the family if at all possible. I sent GSD an email about having black block off plates that do not have GSD on it so I wont have to drill right through the logo. I like the Buell logo. Cheapest Ive found the LEDs were about $82 with shipping. When I get info I will buy and post pics. With NJ getting more snow I have time it seems to monkey around. | ||

I got rizoma indicators on my CR .. they come with a black box which the instructions say .. must connect .... etc So did you just plug connectors from the indicators directly to the connectors from the bike ??? ie by passing the "black box and resistors " Havent been game to try that .. given that they cost so much in OZ and getting replacements will be a tough ask .. If you could confirm that would be great .. | ||

Im running the resistors .. and the signals are flashing fast ... thought to try and connect it up without ... but havnt tried yet .. On my XB i used one resister on each rear signal and the flasher operated per norm .. The flasher is obviously set for the load of the original signals being led .. Jonnys999 how are your signals flashing ?? fast ?? or normal .. and if so .. have you got any resisters inline ? | ||

Mine flash normally. If your talking about those little black boxes that came with the Rizoma set up, those are the resisters and I wired them in per the instructions. | ||
