How many of you have fabbed your own fender eliminator? I'm getting ready to do mine and it would be nice to see what you've all done with yours!

I did mine in aluminum. I'll probably make another one a bit different than this though.

I made mine right from the original plastic piece.I cut the mounting area off the tail piece and screwed a piece of small angle and bolted it to the plastic mount.I used the original hardware to.But if your not inclined there 60$ on ebay right now.Which is cheap. But if not just cut the plastic mount off the tail piece and use it.Its not like your going to be able to sell it.

I went with a Jardine, but added (2) holes for the rear bolts with some angle bushings to offset the offset.

I do like the machine turned AL part...nice. How about boxing in the turn sig bolt area?

I was thinking of something similar to Deans but I'd paint it black to blend in, or shortening the stock piece like you did Blackflash (got any pics?). I'll start with shortening the stocker and if I mess it up I'll move onto the next plan!

I cut the stocker down for mine also:

Here's the one I made for my bike.

Simple enough, a piece 1/16" plate, some cut down 1/8" wall aluminum angle for light mounts and a piece of 1/8" x 3/4" bar for the plate mount.

I painted it black before doing the final install.

I still have the templates. I'll try to get them posted with dimensions : )

1324- Nice!

I really like that layout and great use of simple sheet metal breaks.

1324:

I have the Jardine unit --- which I love --- but I have to say your solution is about the cleanest I've seen. I'd say you have a product on your hands . . .

Lotsa different designs to do the same thing. That's why I love this place.
I used 1/8" Aluminum plate bent to fill the hole, thick wall Al tube for slant washers a couple of Al bars to clamp the plate and 16 Ga SS 304 for the plate carrier.
Light is a run/stop/turn from XB Lights.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. As far as availability - we all know how this goes around here with sponsors. SOOOO, I've been talking with Al about this. Pending some successful road testing to make sure the part is resilient enough to weather the vibes, this might be available if there is interest. I'll leave it at this for now, though...

I did mine like Xtreme6669 except I mounted a piece of small aluminum angle to the two bolts and mounted my plate to the angle.I then bought a small light strip from autozone and wired it in.

1324, one of the cleanest designs I've seen... any chance you have a template you'd share?

I do have a template. If Al doesn't want to sell the parts, I'll publish the template for all the DIY'ers out there.

I'll have to post pics later, but i bought an eliminator off ebay... it last 11 hours and then broke off and my tire ate the license plate... So then i made my own for less than 1/2 of what i paid for the ebay one, and mines much better and much sturdier...

I see some good stuff on here

1324,

I assume since you tucked everything in closer there was no need to lengthen any wire! Some of the aftermarket ones I've seen say that you may have to.

Actually, it was done to clean up the rear. But yes, the OE wiring harness is sparse to say the least.

Here is mine. I would have made it one piece out of the Aluminum but I got ahead of myself and cut off the turn signal ears by accident...

It's off to the powder coaters, i think i will reapply the image when done, never bad to know you have a little pu55y under your a55,LOL
