Ridenusa4l - Sorry, I just saw your post. Wonder if there is a product that I could adapt to a base that I design and machine and then supply with the proper connectors? That may be to only way that I can do this affordably.

Without reading back through the whole thread (since the forum software makes you "work" to get to stuff that's archived), can you guys clarify what's for sale here? What I'm not entirely clear on is are these spools supposed to replace the factory ones on the '09 models, or are they somehow designed to be used with the '08s that don't have the spool mount holes? I do pretty much all my own work and having spools makes working on the bike that much easier, but mine is an '08. Thanks!

They're replacement spools for the newer models that came with them from the factory. They do not work on the 08's.

Keith,

I understand, and i think theres one from motrax, i believe its for a cbr, thats supposed to work, but its only a stick on, then u have to find some flat screws and use those to secure the fairing. i havent personally used the cbr's like i should have, but the suzuki ones required me to splice them, and then after it was all said and done, they wouldnt mount up, becuase there was only one shaft in the middle instead of 2 on the outside, so it wouldn't work on the 1125r's mounting holes.

Thanx
Jake

Yes, damn the forum software that makes you click on a page that has a name instead of number. Anyway, "Archive through December 09, 2009" is the oldest one, and therefor the first page, and has the pictures and info you want.

Alright guys. The good news is the prototype DHM spools arrived today. The bad news is it's snowing - so I can't ride. But the better news for all of us is the spools fit, function, and look flawless.

Even lifting from the furthest point inward, there is still plenty of clearance. They will look stunning in black!

Stock (left) vs. DHM (right)

Minimal width increase to accommodate lifting w/o damage to swingarm.

Generic, GPI Industries (left) vs. DHM (right)

You did a good job with the design Nick. They look great! I'll get the first production run started.

I have that same Handy wheel stand!

Thanks,
Keith

Keith -

Just an idea here.
About the front mirror removal block-off thingers.

Maybe this would be a project that you could team up with Robert from XBlights?

You machine out the housing, he supplies the electronics?

Just throwing out ideas.
I have a design idea in my head, but no good way to convey the info.

Turn signal block off plates? That sounds great, even though I love my stock mirrors.

Unless you guys see another way to get there, we need a lens that could be used from another turn signal that is not too expensive. And yes, maybe Robert could supply the LEDs.

Keith,
You may not need to modify your existing block-offs that much for my idea.
Machine a recessed area on the bottom, make a base plate, drill holes aiming forward for the LEDs in the top half, mount them in there, no lens.
Fill the back side (recessed area) with electrical fill silicone stuff. (you know that stuff that is in the ECM, between the plugs, you all know what I'm talking about, right??) that will also hold the LEDs in place.

Is this making any sense?
hahaha.

Let me know, if not i can sketch it up and scan it or something.

None of the LEDs I have put together in the past have had lenses.

Totally unnecessary.

99 - I'm definitly interested. Would you send a sketch of your idea my way?

A_s_r - Yes, the 1125 EcoSlider Stage 1 Kit (TM) will be available for $89.95 and will include front and rear sliders plus the anodized spools with mounting hardware. Each slider or spool kit will be available individually for $34.95.

I can't commit to availability just yet as I don't have them in my hands and the spools will still have to be anodized. For the folks that don't want the spools anodized, they will be available a little sooner.

I'll let you know as soon as they arrive.

Merry Christmas,
Keith
