This exhaust is AWESOME! It is REALLY loud but it has an incredible sound. It really didn't kill my ears but it is LOUD. Sounds like no other bike I have heard. Will hopefully have pics and youtube up soon!

Put em' up!! Being another racer (former for me) like you, the sound probably is not too loud...

I have the same exhaust on my 1125R, sounds AWESOME. But now the bike stalls several times after being started and I have to hold at 3k rpms for a minute or 2 before it will idle, warm start or cold start. Are you having a issue like that? Using a stock map?

What do your neighbors think? I can't imagine making this thing any louder. With the stock exhaust and sound from the motor, I'm sure I wake up a few people every morning I ride to work.

Sorry the pics are coming.
The sound. There was a trackday at Talladega GP today and the lady and I went to see from friends ride. It was lunch time when we showed up and EVERYONE stopped what they were doing and stared at the bike going bye. People came up to us and said that it was the LOUDEST, COOLEST sound they have ever heard. This thing is SERIOUSLY LOUD. Have been riding the CR lately and it may be too loud for me : (

Oh, the power is impressive. It will wheelie in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. The power is much better than stock or the Jardine but the sound hits you like a rock : )

I just changed the oil and filter at 550 miles with Motorex synthetic. My problem is that at idle it surges from 1500 rpm to 800 rpm and want to stall.
Any suggestions?

No more posts until we get a youtube clip!

: )

Your description sounds pretty awesome. I'm toying around with what exhaust I should get and I can't decide.

I had big time idle surge like that when I first installed the o.s.b. perf. tune... Richening it up quite a bit smoothed it out a lot. now i get a small surge of about 200 rpm from 1400 to 1600 I went from 112afv up to 116 and I think I still need to go up a bit more.

-this is with k&n and fmf on a 09 cr

Jim,

With all due respect to th OP, the D&D was one of the first exhausts to hit the market and other than the extreme noise, there isn't much more to the pipe. It isn't all that attractive and performance is sub-par. There are better choices out there for sure. It is the loudest pipe going, certainly falling in the obnoxiously loud category.

I would agree with Fresno for the most part, however if tuned properly big gains can be had with this pipe. I've seen dyno charts in the 140hp range with the D&D.

I definitely need a tune since my AFV is 100 front and rear. What's the best tune for this bike.

I have the same question, whats the best tune for the 1125R? is there a change between the r an cr as far as mapping?

I must be a total p*ssy because I really don't see a great need to increase the power of the 1125CR. I don't find myself bouncing off of the rev limiter searching for a few more ponies. If asked to list, in order of importance, things that needed improvement on my 1125CR, horsepower would be way down near the bottom of that list.

I would not be willing to put up with a lot more noise to get a little bit more horsepower, that's for sure. I already wear earplugs to protect my hearing when I ride. Nor do I want to draw even more police attention to myself when I'm on a bike that does 0 to I-need-you-to-post-bail in under ten seconds.

As a dues paying AMA member, I'm not going to put some loud race pipe on my street bike when the AMA is spending a huge amount of time and money fighting overly restrictive anti-motorcycle-noise legislation.

But if you're racing at the Danny Eslick level and need to eek out every possible performance advantage, the D&D (or other loud race pipe) might be a good idea.

I'm with Fmax. Not that more power wouldn't be fun, but until I start feeling limited on a track, it already has way too much for the street. Riding the thing now is an extreme exercise in self control. More power and an addicting exhaust note would endanger my license and pocketbook.

Furthermore, the stock map on my bike is really quite good. Smooth and easy to manage at low revs. I am afraid to mess it up! Who would have expected that statement a little over a year ago?

Well call me weird but I want 10 more hp and more TQ as well. But I'm use to more power then the CR has. And I'm guessing the guys that come off of inline 4's find the fueling to be rough on the Buell I know I do and that's why I will go with the tune soon!

Its not weird at all. Any real man would want every last last HP possible that's within their financial ability. Any one else is just a p***y trying too fool themselves.

Let's be clear here, running the D&D is in a different category than all the rest of the pipes. It's like running with open headers.

If mine was running like the last '08 I test rode, I would be jumping on an *** tune too. My '09 is just running too well to monkey with it. If I can try someones bike with a remap and it works as well, I might think about it.

And swede. No name calling. If you ride on the street and aren't in a morgue or jail, you must be a p*ssy too, because you definitely aren't using all the power available.
