I predict Showa'S Big Piston Forks will show up on the new models.

Some new colors. I saw a pod in grey while touring the plant last month. When I asked about the color my "tour guide" stated that they are always trying different colors. I hope for a 1125RT.

What design dissipates heat quickest?

since gold has the most free electrons, it would be the best at dissipating heat (as well as conducting electrical current) but the material strength and cost would be awfully prohibiting....

I'd say redesign the frame to compensate a normal radiator behind the front wheel and ditch the pods. keep the same frame for the xb models

Why not at the rear of the engine?

But the Xb's and 1125r frame aren't the same.

If the radiator was behind the front wheel like everybody else, the bike would be as long as a Hayabusa and handle like a goat.
The pods allow plenty of radiator surface while keeping the wheelbase "Buell short".

Gold is not especially great at either electrical or thermal conducting, there are many better materials.
Where gold excels, especially in electronics is that it does NOT react with any oxidizers except Aqua Regia.
It will NOT tarnish so contacts stay clean better.

Silver is much better at both, but oxidizes readily and the oxide layer is a pretty good insulator.

This makes me sad. If there are no podess Buells in 2010 I will not get one.

Somehow the world is full of such bikes successfully so, sayyyy ALL the SS bikes are shorter than Busa's and can handle quite well!

The pods look like either an after thought or a budget way to accommodate water while restyling the XB frame design. Its hard to imagine that look was intentional even if it gives some benefits like a short wheelbase.

The intent of the split radiators was to allow the motor to be forward in the frame in order to move the CG forward and give the bike it's 54% front 46% rear weight bias.

On a flashier note, anyone seen the pictures on motorcycle.com of the Buell factory tour? In the picture of the Race lightened fairing mount did anyone notice a wavy rear brake rotor? Is the 1125R getting wave rotors in 2010?

Sorry for the rant this just sounds like my hope for an American twin is not going to happen. Lets say they worked on this bike for two years before its release and have had two since. Thats four years to design a competitive attractive design.

Maybe I should not get wound up until we see what they actually release but the grey pod scarred me.

It's a pod, I was hoping they were to evolve away from the side bags

The pods look fine. They just need to redesign the muffler or add a chin fairing to incorporate them better with the rest of the design. I don't see the pods disappearing, so get over it.

My wish list for 2010 models:

Limited Edition "Race-themed" 1125R with full fairing, decals, etc. (I hate to use this as an example, but I used to own one, something like a Honda Repsol or the Nicky Hayden 848 Ducati)

I see a cherry bomb Lightning, not a 'bolt.

That's too bad to hear. My hope came true last fall when I bought an 1125 and never looked back.

I've gotta say . . . I am not an 1125R kinda guy (although I'd love to ride one) but a Geico Race Replica Buell would be darn good wallet grease!

Court +1

Anyone know anything about those wavey rotors that appear bolted to the wheel in the background of that last Buell Facility Picture?

Guys, the last Buell pic is for the RACE bike (note the pipe, frame, swingarm, EBC forks, rads, etc). Wavy rotors are rear only.
Wheels are forged magnesium from Marchesi.

Have you noticed in the last photo posted by Teddagreek - the bike on the lift looks like an R with a shortened tail frame and a different exhaust - is it being race prepped or is it something else ?

yeah that is a race prep, they get rid of most of the sub frame since it only needs to support one rider and not much else. no signals or tail light, pretty much nothing inside the race tail but electronics, if that...
