i am restating this from another thread. there are all kinds of things going on in many different threads and i would love an answer to a few questions. some of the things i have been reading, and some of the "shall we say" behind the scenes things i seem to notice make me curious wether or not there are alterior motives to things being posted lately. things i notice make me wonder about peoples character sometimes. this was posted in another thread by Blake in response to the way montgomery(slypiranna) has been "acting" lately Montgomery, It'd be interesting to see your reaction to folks publicly antagonizing you, your livelyhood, reputation and personal honor on the internet. This in my view is what you've done to Kevin and the folks at Drummer/KD Fab. Your apology rings entirely hollow from my view and I'm sad to say that my personal estimation of your character is greatly diminished. i think that time has come. now i have been pretty much keeping my mouth shut for awhile(or trying like hell to) but im tired of waiting for it to play out on its own. this [link to non-sponsor website redacted] makes me wonder why someone with their own amazingly perfect 1125 exhaust would be showing so much interest in other peoples exhaust(drummer & TM) if markel engineering has been in development of an 1125 exhaust for over a year why no word of it. the bigger question is why would a person already so close to production of their own pipe be trying so hard to get someone elses prototype exhaust to take a good long look see at? slys posts "Easyrider, Do we still have a test pipe to pass around?" "Pete and Dris! Can "we" not trade around ONE "test" pipe like we previously posted about here on BadWeb? I understand if each of us has to afford a cc number so that if you never see it again, it gets paid for but can you do something for all here involved and serious as to a loaner type deal and then refund the cc once sent to the next test user?" why would someone with there own awesome hand built exhaust be needing someone elses stuff to test? i know there are many helpfull people in the world, but i dont know many people who would be building a product for the same market, that would be helping a competetor test there product just out of the goodness of their heart. in all honesty it makes me worry for Dris and his product too. this would be like Kevin calling up Dris and saying he wants to borrow a pipe. or vice versa. thats just something i dont see happening. this was also posted earlier on by sly and i never got a response to my question about it. it was apparently directed towards kdfab. "You" pay for sponsorship here, learn from others here and then post ads voicing the way you do things like it has been your way all along...ok but don't be so quick to judge. now me being who i am and having been around here for awhile wonder what thats supposed to mean. my BWB history may be incorrect but i do believe drummer was one of the first people to actually start producing pipes on this board for resale to everyone. correct me if im wrong. so then i wonder who kevin was copying? in turn, what i see going on with the markel engineering pipe seems to be someone trying their damndest to get there hands on someone elses prototype pipe with the likely hood of checking it all over in the interest of furthering the production of their own pipe. am i wrong? im sure if i get an answer it will be that i am wrong, but im not sure how someone would prove to me that i am wrong. but hey, what do i know. i can only go by what i read. anyone can take this as they want. (to more than a couple threads and websites, lol) and since the last person that tried to have a private conversation(Blake) and keep it off of the board had their email posted on the board by sly i figured why not. it'll end up here anyway. | ||

i realize and i have no problem with that. i waited awhile before even bringing this stuff up. just finally decided it was more than past do to try and figure a few things out. atleast from my perspective on the subject anyway. something just doesnt seem to add up and i am curious as to why. | ||

That does put a different spin on things. I guess if one wanted to study a design, selecting a considered top player in the field would be a good choice. I've seen another system advertised since at least last summer that is similar to Drummer. It has gotten no discussions on here and it's even from a respected member's dealership. Hopefully all you good exhaust men will bring quality products to market so we can get back to bickering over small stuff like which is more aesthetically pleasing.  | ||

IMO The stock OEM Buell cutaway display muffler will tell you more design secrets that work than studying any of the current aftermarket offerings except one. | ||

Thank you Blake for removing the non sponsored link that was tied to this thread and heading as that was the ONLY reason I did not post to this thread until now. Why? To help to look out for the integrity of BadWeB and that "link" is not a paid sponsor here.  +1 Xb9! IMO, "that" pipe would be that of TM's R&D efforts. TM's sharing in public views have been the means of which we ALL have to compare data against. It is the NEW standard! My highest regards to Dris for raising the bar in this area. (Also the reason we wish to help selected racers get their hands on his pipe and others!...which still is in the works! IT'S CALLED WORKING TOGETHER and it IS in the goodness of all hearts involved!) This is not a conspiracy folks nor a means for anyone to copy another. In fact, the x pipe is not a direct competing pipe to TM's, Drummer's, ect...but that will be known of in the near future. For any business or owner/tester to post folly information now...well that really is insulting to expect the population to swallow. "We" are a lot more educated now, based on the many good here that have freely helped each other progress with our ownership, racing and business efforts surrounding this motorcycle. When I see a poster, post admission to a "lie", yes, I do go off. When I see a poster claim something that is unfounded, yes, I do question it and if it goes unanswered, I get harder in my questioning. When I read that a sponsor learns of information that was shared here...then, overnight claims to have helpful and experienced knowledge relevant to whatever we are talking about...well, that is not tolerable. Such a business should be a little more humble in their methods, if only out of the respect for those involved in helping them to begin with. We have many here that know the HD/pushrod engines inside and out but there are only a select handful that have a clue about the Helicon Rotax. The bottom line is that we all share honestly and openly in order to have widespread progress forward and not the complete waste of time that has been devoted to backwards argument. IMO, the backwards arguments, usually concerning a sponsored business here, has been proven to be protected by the moderators here, even if said sponsors are in the wrong. Hence the bias that I refer to in some of my communications. But this is the sandbox of another, not "ours". It is sad that the many who really do have the best of intent to help the entire effort forward are the ones that are the most attempted to discredit! LOL! For the last time, I am not trying to copy or discredit the sponsors here. I only am trying to help all involved, progress. I sent a PM to No_rice Feb 28th. I included in that communication that he may share it. I believe I answered all of his questions but I question why he hasn't posted such understanding now? If enough really wish to keep questioning my intent, I will post the copy of it. I have nothing to hide on these subjects. Honesty and proven information folks, step up and post with it or don't post anything at all. By the way, thank you all for the free advertisement that has occurred as a result of this bull$hit! I believe I answered all of his questions but I question why he hasn't posted such understanding now? well first, i have my daughter for the weekend so i have been spending my time with her. i didnt check my email until about 3:00am when the gf got home from work. wasnt really in the mood to do anything except spend some time with the gf. plus it was basically stated in that email that you said i could use it anyway i wanted but you actually wished it not to have the conversation made public. now you ask why i havent posted it? thats confusing. now the jist of what i got from the email is that sly already knows basically all he needs to know about the other exhausts and understand them very well, and that everything else going on is all out of the goodness of you heart and to promote the sport, and aftermarket basically. okey dokey. now one thing i will state is that a response to the question i had about this ""You" pay for sponsorship here, learn from others here and then post ads voicing the way you do things like it has been your way all along...ok but don't be so quick to judge." was sent. i guess i will attempt to clarify that it supposedly came across the wrong way on the board or something along those lines, and that it wasnt a slam against kdfab and was directed at someone else. | ||

you know sly, im actually all for saying what you think and standing by what you believe. i have done that to my own detriment many times and i wouldnt change a thing. im just not for the way you have been going about it. thats my big problem with what i see. there are ways to get across what someone thinks or has to say without it coming across like they are being an ass. and thats directed at more than just you. anyway, best of luck in your ventures elsewhere. | ||

I did that considerably when I made my "system", (in the archives), which is a turbo type muffler with an insert to somewhat quiet and cause just the right amount of back pressure. My initial testing on the street has produced a nice sound, louder, authoritive, but not too loud with performance equal to, or maybe better then stock. Thats yet to be seen as I have not had it on a dyno yet. It does not look very good but is hidden behind my full lowers. I'm completely satisfied but it is off right now until warranty is satisfied and ALL recalls are performed. Three as of now; maybe more to come? Way too much trouble to ever want to design/build another. My hats off to Kevin for a great quality system that evidently really works. Hard to believe just how much time and effort can go into producing just one item let alone go into production. Good job my friend. Sell a bunch. Bob | ||

I think is cool how the Drummer got started with some Southern guy and then some guy in New Jersey started to help and they got better with each release, remember the excitement with the stainless steel drummer?, and then a new bike was released and they started developing for that and then an argument started on Badweb (surprise surprise) so Blake had to step in and remind people of good manners and then everyone lived happily ever after.
