We have a couple of new items specifically for the 1125R : )

First off, and available to order immediately, is a new higher solo seat unit that balances the look of the bike much better than the stock 'tail dragger' look. The kit includes a new airbox cover and seat unit in white fibreglass ready to paint, plus all of the brackets and fittings needed. It raises the tail of the bike by 100mm to the same height as the XB12R, and this in turn makes the front end look a lot less bulky without changing it at all. Seat height is raised by just 40mm.

Secondly, from West Coast in Holland, is a kit to replace the stock ZTL front brake with dual radial mount calipers : ) This kit consists of new fork bottoms only, and is designed to be used with a Yamaha R6 front wheel & brake discs. The fork legs allow the use of most radial mount calipers. Price is yet to be set, and availability will be dependant upon interest.

Reverso? Spill, buddy.

Nice isn't it : ) Not available yet, but under development. It is a 2-2 system with a reverso muffler for each cylinder, exiting either side of the belly pan.

As soon as I have more info you will read it here first : )

The "muffler" in that reverso looks like one that popped up a few days ago.
Can't find it.
Everybody said it looked bad, I thought it looked Old School Cafe.
I like 2 in a reverso.

More info Matt!

Yeah, +1 on digging that exhaust! So far it's the only aftermarket exhaust I'd consider putting on my baby!

I don't see a kick stand. Will this exhaust work with the kick stand? and does the belly pan come with the exhaust?

This is a race bike, so no kick stand.

The exhaust is still under development, and is a race pipe only at present. There may be a pure road version eventually, and that will have to be able to work with the side stand.
The belly pan is a much 'modifed' XB item for oil containment only. I don't think it will be included with the pipe.

Matt, based on my own personal preference, and what many others have expressed here, I think a Reverso 2:1 or 2:1:2 slip-on street system would sell very well. I eagerly await what you guys come up with.

Amazing how this AMERICAN sportbike seems to get the majority of its aftermarket support from overseas...

Matt, what is the weight difference in your front wheel setup and stock?

It was pointed out in another thread that switching to dual front brakes adds too much weight. I was interested in carbon fiber wheels for racing but this would necessitate using a front wheel like the one you show here. The point made was why go with a heavier front brake system so that you could save weight on the wheel.

So, what would be the advantage of switching to an R6 front wheel and brakes?

That is definitely the best looking exhaust out there, unfortunately it's probably gonna be in the price range of the Saron or more. Too rich for my blood.

"So, what would be the advantage of switching to an R6 front wheel and brakes?"

I hope you don't mind me answering, but the purpose is better braking performance. That has been a common complaint about the ZTL setup. It is different and it lightens the front end, at the expense of good braking performance, which is it's primary purpose.

I really like these products. The seat unit looks great, and the R6 wheel swap is a clever solution. I hope it works as good as it looks.

I would like to see a CF front fairing similar in shape to stock, but a couple inches narrower on each side.

I say, send me one exhaust, I dyno it for free and post the results here...

Nice looking is not always nice performing..

It was pointed out in another thread that switching to dual front brakes adds too much weight.

Without wishing to be accused of Trolling (again!) and starting the whole ugly brake debate once more, putting a twin disc setup on the front will increase weight, but not by as much as you may imagine. The main advantage is that you get much better braking performance with less heat build up, which is the killer for the ZTL.
Every single European 1125R race team that I have spoken to (which is most of them)have suffered from brake rotors warping and pads wearing out at an alarming rate, as have most XB racers. Switching to a twin disc setup gives more disc surface area and spreads the heat evenly between the two calipers. It also means that you get a far more consistent braking performance over a longer period. trail braking (braking into a turn) is much beter and the bike more balanced. Using a forged or carbon front wheel will bring the weight down to below that of a stock Jap IL4 front end, and lets face it, nobody complains that the CBR600 or R6 have a heavy front end do they?

Matt and Freightdog, is controversy bad?

Thanks for the reply. My neighbor is an experienced cycle mechanic, motogp fanatic, and owns 2 ducatis (1098 & 996). He is adamant about dual front brakes being better than the ZTL for the same reasons you give. I get hammered on this frequently (especially after a few beers) So sign me up. Looks like the good solution.

Matt, do you have more specific contact info for West Coast in Holland? Google didn't turn it up

Thank you, Doug

As Buell has said from DAY 1, they are intended to be streeeeeeeet bikes. IF you are taking it to another level, the brake/front end modifications make sense, but if you are not, the ZTL is entirely adequate. IMHO.

ZTL is great for a street bike but twin disks are better for racing.

Seems strange that I still see ZTL2's on Higbee's and all the Canadian/US race bikes?
I assume to keep it within the race regs?
Looks like the ZTL2 can handle 10-25laps ok just maybe struggles with the endurance setup?
And surely if the brakes were so bad they would not use them

I recently got the D&D in and installed it. The You tube video does nothing to express how obnoxiously loud it is. I took it right back off after I had the police following me. It does look sweet, though. How street-able in terms of sheer volume will these pipes be? Will they fit under the full fairing kit on the Trojan site?
