I did my first track class yesterday at Nelsons Ledges in Warren Ohio. I have never been on a track before ( rode a HD springer forever)So the 1125R is my first sport bike.

Besides having the time of my life ! I thought I'd share my experience with the bike.

Never being on a track and not knowing what to expect was to say the least nerve racking. Not to make a advertisement but the instructors at Fasttrax are great teachers.
The bike itself has the same suspension settings from the factory and the handling has great . Some what loose, but I now know were to set it. By the end of the day I did touch my knee. Didn't drag it but it touched briefly.
Not really being 'track experienced" and following an instructor taking turns 75-80 MPH is a rush and the bike never felt like it didn't want to do anything else but run. I did outrun a couple of the advanced riders on the straight also! This bike makes so much power out of turns! Go Buell!

Bike never got hotter than 204'F and no over heating problems. Really the only problem I had was the "popping stall" 2 or 3 times and my fear (at the beginning ) of leaning.

I love this bike and will, with any luck be on the track more before it snows.

Thought I'd share ....My .02

Zack see if you can grab and post some vin numbers and build dates of the demo 1125R's.

I'm curious if those are just updated pre-production bikes.

Hitman, you should've come out on Saturday at Nelson Ledges to watch our very own Wolfridgerider race his 12r.

I plan on doing the fasttrax school next year sometime, probably after the make over of the track. Which class did you take?

I got to demo an 1125R at an Inside Pass day. I really loved the bike. A lot of fun to ride, even if the demo ride was a bit slow.

I'm in the white helmet.

I did the street rider class. The instructors are awesome!!
I wanted to get to the track but....work keeps getting in the way! I'll figure out someday how to fix that before I'm to old!!

That's the class I was thinking I'd do.

I think Wolf is scheduled to race again in Sept sometime. Keep an eye on the NOB section in the storm fronts. 10 bucks to get in to loiter and watch, really good racing last weekend.

Man, I am so jealous. I would love to do a track day. I would be so nervous though, having never ridden a sportbike, but it is a dream of mine. Not getting any younger either.

First step - get a bike I can take on the track. I just don't think I want to get out there with my Dyna.

Second step - figure out a story to tell my wife about where I am going and what I am doing. I don't know how understanding she would be about me taking a bike on a track.

Man, I'm jealous. Did I say that already?

not meaning to be crass, but steal your nuts back out of her purse and TELL her what YOU are going to do. then do it! : ) go with someone you know that does trackdays and is a real understanding guy and ride his bike in the novice group while he rides in his group. pay your way and his way. you will either be thrilled or you won't ever go back. i'm betting on thrilled.

Or you can ride the demo bikes @ an Inside Pass event. That way you only have 2 pay for the trackday & not worry about the bike(s).

Explain 2 yer wife that you are actually SAFER on a track going fast, instruction is available, etc., etc. than trying to see how fast yer Dyna will go on the road.

If she's still not biting, refer to Tim's advice above.

Tim, oh I can TELL my wife what I am going to do, and I can do it. It's the aftermath that is not always pleasant.

I wanted to do an Inside Pass this year, but it didn't work out. And none of my friends ride on the track. Heck, they don't even ride sport bikes. They are just a bunch of old grey beards on cruisers. I need some younger friends.

Anyway, congrats again to Hitman. I'll get out there one day.

try the new setup and see if that helps w/ the suspension.

Dynasport - a trackday on the dyna will do wonders for your skills - any bike can run just some alot better then others... : D

dynasport,
the aftermath gets easier and easier to tolerate and eventually they quit putting up a fuss. after 35 years with mine she seems to have given up trying to train me. i noticed recently that she has taken to telling me that it is fine when i tell her that i am going to the track, races, etc. a couple more times and i will have to tell her that of course it is fine because that is what i am going to do. and you could ride the dyna at the track, but p_squared had the right idea about the inside pass-they can supply bike, leathers, full-face helmet and you can bring boots and gloves.(don't go with just boots and gloves on because you might get arrested) : ) take the plunge,

so you unplugged all 6 plugs right at the back of each light? because i unplugged the main plug where all the wires combine and it wouldnt run. i guess i should say it wouldnt start. didnt try to do it after it was running.

You can reach in and unplug each light bulb. Pull the fuse (or apparantly yank the harness) and the bike won't start.

You can pull the fuse once it's running.
The lights fuse feeds the start relay but not the ignition.

The fuse is under the bolt-on seat.

Pray you don't kill it at the starting line
