I want to thank those who helped me try to figure out my 1125, I just never felt the bike and although I pay you all respect for your loyalty to the brand I don't understand Buell. I am heading back to rice. I just want to hop on my ride and go, no mapping, no reflash, no gas boils and my legs and thighs sweating.

Thanks for all your advice and the forum is cool, too all of you Buellys good luck and safe riding.

Give the guy a break, it wasn't for him, and he parted gracefully.

Agreed hoot. I just wondered who he was, so i could go back and read his posts to see what issues he had and such. I'm not one to tell people what to do with their money.

Guys:

I previously posted this with regards to problems:

Okay, so I just bought the 1125 after years of rice, liked the looked, reviews I read were good figured I would try it. So I get the bike and I like the handling, the suspension and cornering are great for me. There is one thing that I absolutely hate! The bogging down, hesitation feeling I feel when I just want to cruise, 2 - 4k rpms. I know the bike is built for speed, I get it, but I can't go 50 down every side road...so I even sent the bike back to the shop after one day figuring something's wrong with it, bad gas, fouled plug, something...yeah, no that's the way it rides, it's normal. So guys, does this go away after the break in period??

The second issue is the bike gets so damn hot, the heat coming off of it, in addition to the heat in Florida is crazy. I know that is something I need to live with.

So, honestly is the hesitating, bogging down ride ever going to go away, this bike has little miles on it but I'm already big time disappointed in the ride...does it get better?? I read some of the threads and it doesn't seem like it will - help!!!

It's nothing that others aren't experiencing but not something I want. I don't know anything about reflashing and mapping. I know how to change the fluids, put gas in and go.

I do love the handling, the torque and the speed, but the drivability at lower rpms and the comfort (heat from engine) just made me not want the bike.

Like I said, some of you taught me some things and some guys were cool. Again, good luck and drive fast but safe

Its not me. I will hang in for the next revision.

I love Buell Handling and belt drive. But I guess if I only had one bike I too would have bought something else this first run.

Actually, you deserve credit for being so HONEST&POLITE!...and NO, your not wrong on many of the negs that you've mentioned, if compared to the big four.

I'm posting this knowing ill will come from many others but the thread starter DOES deserve credit for his/her efforts in trying this model.

Good luck on your next ride...and thank you for wishing the rest of us luck in helping to perfect this one!: )

P.S...don't be sore though if your beat by a Buell down the road!

Like they say "patience is a virtue" When all these "little" quirks are solved, and they will be, with all the input from here and BMC doing the great job they have been doing, we will all have just maybe the best all around sportbike of recent times. I think I already do. Bob

What quirks? At Texas World Speedway this past weekend, I was about to stick it to a rice machine... squeezed the throttle between Turn 11 and Turn 12 and NOTHING! NOTHING I TELL YOU!!! It's that sol-Annoyed, isn't it?

Keith: rice seems to make a lot of people happy. I can understand the appeal. Buying into Buell is not just about the bike, as you must know. It's about the cult, a Branch Davidian sorta thing. I will buy a Buell, always. Doesn't matter if they sell $hit mounted between two axles. I'm hooked...

Well, I think it's probably a bit of frustration on his part and I can understand to a degree. No one wants to spend that much money on a less than perfect bike. That said, the post shouldn't have been made anonymously. Put your name out there so the guys here know who they are dealing with. Well, unless you think that complaining about all the troubles you're having with the bike would hurt a possible sale in the classifieds section?

Its ok to sell the bike. Don't worry about the guys giving you crap. It seems like half the guys here think that burnt legs, boiled gas, dead batteries, and a bucking bronco ride are just kick ass Buell traits that everyone should love!

Well they aren't and most people don't enjoy them. Maybe you could get a CBR1000RR. I keep hearing that the midrange on that bike is unreal!

Good luck with the next bike!

Can't say I blame the guy. I have not been able to ride for nearly two weeks and many more to come due to a shoulder surgery. Sitting at home bored all I can dwell on is these dang recalls, frying my jewels in traffic, and honestly expecting at least one more recall on the 4500 rpm stalling issue. Not to mention the price of aftermarket parts "exhaust", and the fact that there isn't much out for it. No service manual. Makes me wish I'd have spent less on the XB12R. I need to ride and re-kindle my love for this machine. But it will be at least another month.
I really really need to ride, I am having withdrawals

"It's nothing that others aren't experiencing"

Untrue. See Fresno's post above. Many even most others have similar experiences with their 1125R.

"I don't know anything about reflashing and mapping."

You apparently missed our 1125R Forum's big bold topic in red print on that issue. :/ Here it is.

Sounds to me like your dealership may not be as thoughtful or caring as it could be.

But now he's selling because he's unhappy with it?

Honesty is a good thing.

I think to own a Buell is something more than just wanting a sport bike. The rawness, sound, thump, look, American pride, and shear fighter jet torque.
Ya their are some "quirks" in a few bikes.
I'm one of the lucky ones so far and havent had any real problems with mine.
I think to leave a Buell and just go get a ...same as every kid on the block rice burner...well I think you didnt have the idea to start with.

>>>Well now, there's the trouble. That is not my experience at all. Mine is perfect.

As these things sell in record number that' pretty much the "normal" experience owners are having.

There have been some hiccups, nothing that is not easily addressed and Buell has gone so far, with this last 5th gear recall, as to immediately deeply (it's already in dealerships) a solution to a problem few would ever encounter.

It's kind of a cool deal really.

I have 8400+ miles on Loretta now.
I had some "rideability" issues for ~1100 miles after the reflash.
She is running like a striped ape now, EXTREMELY happy.

The painful time riding a popcorn machine waiting for the ECM to learn is now a memory.
Just like the long wait from August to December for delivery.

In retrospect, it was all VERY much worth it.
I have "The Perfect Motorcycle" in my garage now.

See y'all at Homecoming.

Am I missing something? Just how many sport bikes are made that you can cruise around town at 2000 rpms and not ride like crap? Lost of cruisers but not many sport bikes and only twins like BMW maybe?? Might just be my ignorance. Anybody else got any input on this??

....... It's kind of a cool deal really.
________________________________________

I would say my Buell Ulysses way probably the best bike I ever owned and enjoyed it as it was so perfect for me in so many ways.

I traded it after he fourth visit to the dealer for the same oil leak. A leak that killed $300 boots, my driveway and a few rides.

My business day does not make it easy to go to the dealer. My simply tightening the connections would not stop the leak.

That simple issue forced me to part with this otherwise perfect bike. I do empathize with the people that drivability issues as not everyone has all day to play with their bike and would prefer it just perform.

Now, I did not by a competitor due to that I bought the 08 Bolt. First ride smoke appears from front of engine as broken connector allowed clutch cable to touch exhuast and melt.

I understand the frustration of being forced to change your day for small issues no matter how cute you try to make them sound.

Cool deal, niggles, growing pains, elf surprises or character.

The Character I love about buell is its handling, it's american, it unique, its great torque, great handling not problems that alter ride plans.

I also dont blame the guy for first hiding his unhappiness while trying to market the bike to someone here.
