We are pleased to announce the latest addition to the Remus exhaust range. A slip on silencer kit for the revolutionary Buell 1125R!

The kit comprises of a new stainless steel link pipe, pre-silencer collector box and silencer tube in polished or black coated stainless steel. This pipe is fully road legal and E marked for use throughout Europe, and features a removeable baffle for 'track use only' of course.

One of the prime design briefs for this exhaust was that it should not limit ground clearance, and even with the extended silencer tube the ground clearance is as good as the stock bike, but with less weight. The lean angle, which has nbeen much discussed here, is not affected, and if you ground this exhaust you will be sliding along on your A*se by that time anyway : )

Weight saving is 3.3kg over stock and power increase in the all important mid range is 10bhp @7,000rpm (with baffles in and no fuelling modifications!) with useful increases right up to the red line, and importantly no dips in power.

Polished finish: ttp://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/279.html

Black finish:http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/280.html

Prices are GBP498 (US$966 approx) for the polished version and GBP517 (US$1002) for the black coated option. These prices would of course be less our normal discount amounts : )

Shipping to the US would be GBP70(US$135 approx) by Fedex.

Not bad, I like the price and looks pretty well made the final decision for me will be the sound. And it looks like it might fry the passengers foot but i never have passengers anyway.

I like it... But I was curious about the HP numbers. If the blue line is the "stock" bike how is it making that kind of power. The bike only makes 146BHP (or 148.03PS) at the crank. There is no way that somehow Buell has overcome enough of the parasitic drive train power loss to get these kinds of rear-wheel numbers. All of the pubs that i've read on the bike have been getting very "optimistic" rear-wheel numbers in the high 130's. I just wanted to know what kind of DYNO you are using at what temp and baro pressure you are doing these tests at, and if you are accounting for "real world" power loss. I want a new exhaust and you guys offer the best so naturally with these kinds of claims I would love some info before I make a purchase. Thanks!

Yeah.....those dyno numbers again; "corrected", no doubt. Sorry - just don't buy aftermarket hp claims for much of anything. Especially exhausts.

Most modern OEM pipe/muffler systems are very efficient and coupled with sophisticated EFI engine management it is almost impossible to improve power output without modifying fuel/timing maps. And/or mechanically changing the motor with cams, intakes, and so forth. Been there - done ALL of that. Moreover, any set of dyno tests is subject to a 5% variation from run to run; environmental reasons, test procedures and protocol, operator error, deliberate correction factor manipulation, built-in dyno error or "fudge factor", and so forth.

If this exhaust at least doesn't lose power over stock [many do], and is appealing from a subjective looks and sound point of view, it will have been successful and folks will buy it. Give up on the "more power" claims.

On the site it claims a 10hp increase. Which to me would mean with those dyno charts the bike was making 134/136 stock and thats pretty much what a good chunk of the 11's make.

I just guess the stock numbers are not on the chart. Either way I just placed an order so ill have an comparison as soon as I recieve it.

That seems awful expensive for a slip on for me...is it just me or do all these companies seem to be gouging the hell out of the price of slip ons for this bike...I think ill wait a year or 2 until theyre not so proud of these things and lower the price...

By now and after having expressed my feelings about a total under the engine turbo type muffler for the sound and if it does not loose H.P. I would by any configuration like that and hide it with a belly pan. Thanks but no thanks on yet another UJM style add on.

"shipping rip off"

If you know of a more cost effective means to ship an insured $1000 item from Britain to CONUS, please do share. I'm certain that Matt (Trojan) will be very much interested.

From my experience, once it gets into this country our beloved Homeland Security will rip the box to shreds looking for the bomb they just KNOW is going to be in the box. God knows what shape it'll be in by the time it FINALLY makes it to your door...

I gave up ordering stuff from Europe. Besides the price (no fault of Matt's, by the way) and the shipping it was too much of a gamble. Last time I ordered something from Matt it literally took MONTHS for me to get it, and when I did the box had been obviously torn open and sloppily retaped together. Again, no fault of Matt's. Just our government keeping me safe from excess carbon fiber.

Any pics or info on the other pipe you spoke of over the phone? The full system that will exit by the front tire.

If the blue line is the "stock" bike how is it making that kind of power.

The actual figures can vary between dynos and even different dyno operators. Just a simple thing like strapping the bike down tighter can affect the dyno charts. There are also two different ways of measuring and displaying dyno figures (SAE & DIN), both of which show different results. Both of these charts are in DIN, but as it is not always clear which system the operators are using we always view peak power numbers as 'approximate', and concentrate on the difference between the two traces rather than the numbers. Having said that, both this dyno chart and the one done by Saron are very similar in peak power output for the stock bike. The Saron readout for the stock pipe is slightly lower at 140.53 as opposed to the Remus at 144.3, but that may be due to different dyno's.

Most modern OEM pipe/muffler systems are very efficient and coupled with sophisticated EFI engine management it is almost impossible to improve power output without modifying fuel/timing maps.

Not true. Most stock exhausts are built to comply with a myriad of worldwide emmissions and noise regulations. They also have to be built to suit many different climates and styles of riding. There are some aftermarket pipes that will make less power than stock of course, but most of the 'decent' mufflers and systems will definitely increase power over stock, some very significantly indeed.
I have no reason to doubt the figures given by either Remus or Saron, both of whom are leading worldwide experts on exhaust design, and who have nothing to gain by falsifying dyno charts for short term sales gains. Their reputations are built on being honest.

That seems awful expensive for a slip on for me...is it just me or do all these companies seem to be gouging the hell out of the price of slip ons for this bike...I think ill wait a year or 2 until theyre not so proud of these things and lower the price...

You get what you pay for I'm afraid, and I'm sure there will be cheaper exhausts on the market for the 1125R as there have been for the XB. Some of these will be poorly constructed, offer no gains over stock and will fall apart at the first sign of vibration. Remus offer a full 2 year warranty on their pipes, and they are built to a much higher standard than even most stock pipes, so obviously this has to cost more than cheaper brands. The price is unlikely to go down either. If you look at the equivalent XB Remus exhaust, that has risen in price by more than US$200 since it was launched in 2004, mostly due to the strengthening Euro against the Dollar and UK Pound unfortunately.

We have recently changed our shipping company and now use Fedex. This has proved to be much faster than our previous company, and once we have the part in stock we can deliver to most US destinations next working day. Shipping costs are beyond our control i'm afraid, and with the continuing oil price rises I'm sure there will be no short term prospect of cheaper shipping : ( If you particulalry want cheaper shipping then we can use surface shipping, although this takes weeks and is far more liable to damage.

I have some prototype pics but am unable to share them with you yet under pain of death if I do. Development is continuing on this full system and I am sure we will have something to announce on that score very soon : )

I like it but i would like to hear it in a good quality sound clip. The price is a bit high for a slip on. 500 bucks would be a good price for it not 1000. For 1k it should come with ceramic headers

We find that sound clips are very misleading, as they all tend to sound the same on poor quality recordings. It also depends on how far you place the microphone from the bike, the angle fo the microphone relative to the exhaust exit, whether the bike is under cover or outside and a multitude of other factors.

What is definite is that this will sound 100% better than the stock pipe : ) It will be quieter than the Saron and MUCH quieter than the D&D. With the baffles in it complies to European legislation so will be below 93db. With the baffles out it will be significantly louder.

The best in the business (Yoshi, Micron etc.) Don't charge this much for full systems, headers and slipon. You could actually get a complete Titanium system header and all for just a bit more. I know that these systems are more widely produced but I also know that Titanium isn't a cheap material. Why is it that these slip-ons will cost us 1200+ with shipping. I think that I am going to go to a shop and have them build me a slipon using a Yoshimura can. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

FYI: None of the units sold "inexpensively" in this country would pass an EPA noise test. The "E certified" units sold in unit, though not LEGALLY certified in this country, would pass our noise tests with ease, I suspect.
