Rdmwc,

Get his address! I have some vacation time that I need to use up and would love to take a trip on the Buell over there. I have a couple of things I would like to discuss with him about the bike if he would listen to me. It would be interesting to me to see what kind of a person he really is and if he cares about his products and customer satisfaction. Don't get me wrong I love the bike but need to find out where the communication problem is.

PS. I'm not kidding and I won't do anything stupid. I just need to talk. It may be helpful for lots of us in the long run.

it may take me a few weeks but i will try to find out... i'll ask 'round work and find out where the VP lives then take a journey on the 11 after i detail her! lol and see if i can get his address. i wouldnt mind talking with him as well, but im new to the motorcycle world so i would probably sound like an idiot.

IMO

Not cool.. The man deserves his privacy, and makes more public interaction and appearances than any of the other mfg's...

He as well as others I am sure watch this board, and are way ahead of anything trying to be fixed here. they have come through in the past and I am sure it will be more so in the future...

Pick up my R on Saturday; Cant wait, I am back...

V/R,
Nick

Yeah, I love when a customer shows up at my house when I'm not working and spending quality time with my family.

Just had a customer call my house late, on a weekend. I asked him why he was calling my house. He said I called your work phone and you didn't answer so I Googled you, then looked up your home number on the internet. I felt like I was being stalked and told him not to call my home again.

Don't do it.

Ya, I know exactly where his house is and ya it is huge! But I still don't think I would give out the address. I have to say that I am curious to see his garage!

That's cooler than the vendor rep I spoke with recently. She lives next door to Paul Teutul, Sr.

Things would have to be just right before I would stop. Somebody would have to be around, I set a limit of 10min. If they want to talk longer than that then I will but if not I would go. It gives me a good excuse to take time off work. Sometimes my customers contact me at work or home and I don't mind. It does get a little old after a while and I understand that, and the separation that should be between work and family.

Leave the man alone. That's what Homecoming is for. You can also write to him either snail mail or email. Every human being has the right to separate their home life from work life, and you have no right to invade his privacy. Going to his house is COMPLETELY uncool.

I have to admit, I'd love to see what's in his garage too. But I sure as hell would NOT show up uninvited. That's just wrong.

Yeah - add my vote for respecting the man's privacy. Yes, drive by and LOOK at the place and what you see in the driveway if you must but he can be found at the MoCo. At least when the front desk calls him, he has the option of NOT accepting a visitor. At home, he doesn't have a front office to run interference.

Please, if any of you actually DO find his residence, DO NOT POST it -

(though I have to admit that it'd be cool to find out that the MAN was a neighbor!)

The garage is not all that interesting unless you like cars in pieces ; )

Don't bug the guy at home. come to Homecoming and you will get a good chance to talk with him about anything.

He works amazingly hard and really needs the day off.

It's NOT cool to "pop-in"/bug/harass someone at home with their family. I personally treasure my time at home with my family when work is not intruding upon it, which happens way too frequently as it is.

If you want to meet/talk with him, go to Homecoming/the factory/wherever he's playing with the Thunderbolts, etc., but for Cripe's sake, have some class and DO NOT intrude upon a person's personal life.

And whatever you do, please DO NOT post his personal contact info, including home address, on a public forum without his permission.

Yeah if you go up to Eriks house and knock on the door and say, "hey Erik, can you come look at this real quick." You might just catch a right hook from the man.

Royce

Just ask if you can mow your VP's lawn (literally)and ride your bike there and leave it parked out on the street in front of the house while you mow. Then it could be a total 'coincidence' and you won't look like some freak stalker.

I don't know what some of the clowns on this site would do with that kind of info.

Please leave the man alone at his home!!! I did meet him at a Buell event and had a chance to talk with him for about 10 minutes before more people started wandering over. He is very enthusiastic about motorcycles and his Buells. He gets excited talking about his bikes and motorcycling. He is very approachable, but catch him at a bike event, not his home.

Yeah, the pic in this months Motor Cyclist mag is cool. What is that, an old Studebaker? I also love the rear diff laying on a tire with a chain wrapped around it...just like home : ) I also have a garage (two, actually) with cars "undergoing restoration" (read: taken apart with tons of dust on them, neglected).

And just to echo the above - pleasepleaseplease, leave the man alone at home. I had a customer come in the other day asking why I never called him back. Well...because you called me at 10pm on my day off, on my cell, to bitch about something that happened to you at my dealership. 1: it's my day off. 2: they're closed for the day now so I couldn't do anything even if I was working. 3: all you did was bitch and complain, why would I volunteer myself into a situation like that late in the evening on my day off? <sigh>

You guys are right. I mix business and home life too much and probably should not expect other people to do the same thing. Its just I might be a little too easy going with my customers and not set boundaries like I should. It would be cool though, to meet him the next time I'm in Wisconsin for family stuff. Really don't want to be a stalker! Thats not my intention. I'll just try the work phone instead and see where that goes.

Let's go over there and put pink flamingo's in his yard. We'll put them in the shape of a Pegasus, so from the air EVERYBODY will know where his house is.

The guy is hardley at home probably, leave him in peace.

X2 on leaving him alone at home.

i own a litte restaurant in reno, and i cannot go anywhere in town with seeing someone i know and being bugged about pizza. my work is attached to me worse than a high maintenance girlfriend and there are few places that i try to get a break from thinking about it. my house is one of them(though im still constantly called on throughout the day with things pertaining to work); the only other time i am not thinking about pizza is when im crawling on rocks with the jeep or carving corners on the bike. i honestly have a 24 hour job. i dont work steady shifts. i dont have 'days off'. i work when i am needed, and i determine when i am needed. the more i work, the more successful i am, yet working overtime or working a shift does not net me even one extra penny on my paychecks.

and remember i am the owner of a company that grosses less than 1mil a year in a town with under 300k residents.

erik very likely spends a serious amount of time just trying to organize his personal life and work life and be able to cram it into 24 hours.

dont expect erik to be happy if you knock at his door at home wanting to talk about bikes.

if you really wanted to chat with erik, i would suggest snail or e mailing him directly... or talk to court or dave about it; since theyre homies and all.

i dont think homecoming would be the best time to get eriks undivided attention, either. he will be trying hard just to shake your hand, say hi and sign your bike along with every other buell owner there... and you can be damn sure that there will be more than a couple thousand bikes and AVID buellers there.
