Well, was wondering what seats you're all running on the 1125R. Am told the stock seat is like plywood with leather wrapped around it.

I'm looking at the Firebolt Touring seat.

I have the Touring Seat and think it is real comfy. Its wide and flat...and I think that actually helps (more support). I've been on all day rides without too much discomfort.

I have not tried the Touring seat but put the Corbin seat on mine and can tell the difference big time compared to the stock seat. There was someone selling a touring seat in the classifieds.

I had the touring seat on my XB9R.
I liked it.
I just ordered a Corbin for my 1125R with the carbon fiber look leather cover.

I find the stock seat to be comfortable..... but my longest ride so far has only been fifty miles.

Well, my rides normally are 200-300 a day. So....

Plus, after I buy the bike and get break in done I'll be doing a ride from FL back to CO with my parents. Need to be comfortable.

Did a 200 some mile ride a couple weeks ago and I hurt so bad from the stock seat. So ordered the Corbin and put it on. Along with the Corbin I did 1" drop on the pegs and much more comfortable all around.

Also went with the carbon fiber look on the Corbin. Recommend going with no piping/welting on the sides. According to AL at American Sport Bike CF is the most popular type ordered.

for those of you that went with Corbin, what's the turn around time?
Besides the obvious fact of sponsorship, any difference between Corbin direct and American Sportbike?

I have the Corbin Seat. It's comfortable for touring, but stinks for aggressive riding. It's wider than the stock seat and has ridges on the edges. So if you start moving side to side (hanging off the bike) the ridges cut into you legs.

I'm eventually going to pull the cover of the Corbin and see if I can round off the ridges.

For those with border line reach, the Corbin is also wider which translate into longer reach in terms of leg to the ground.

I was told 2 - 3 weeks when I ordered my Corbin through American Sport Bike. Was surprised when it arrived 3 days later. Turns out he keeps one of these in stock in the CF look, so my order will be the one replenishing his stock.

I had Spencer add some adaptive foam and gel to my stock seat. Real nice for $100.00. You can find him here: http://www.greatdaytoride.com/

Great Guy to deal with and does a great job. NO nonsense, kinda guy.

Wait time and Price. Takes longer Direct, but is less expensive.

Just got my corbin.....went to put it on and a rubber mount on the bottom fell off! What an expensive cheaply made seat. I don't even know if its comfortable!

Yeah I was a little unimpressed by the method used to attach the rubber bumpers. I had to really tweak the rear brackets on my Corbin to get them to fit and in the process one of the rear bumpers came off. Screwed it back on with a short sheet metal screw. According to AL at American Sport Bike the front bumpers can be taken off as they serve no purpose on the 1125R.

I've got 2900 miles on my tour seat.
It's slowly taking the shape of my butt.
At first it felt stiff, it was new and the weather was cold.
It really is getting more comfortable with time.

It's a quantum leap in comfort from the stock seat.

I'm going to put it to the test next week and take a trip down to Victoria, Texas and see family.

Our price is the same as the Corbin price, but it wasn't for a while. They have jacked their pricing around quite a bit over the past year, and I couldn't keep up with the changes. Just noticed recently that that seat had changed substantially, so I adjusted our price accordingly.

The difference between getting them direct and through us?
1) Sometimes I have one on the shelf, if it is the fairly standard Black CF/Vinyl/no welting version.
2) I open every one we get and return it if it isn't up to snuff. I return a lot more than I wish I had to, for things like out of alignment seams or incorrect build to spec.
3) I know what to specify to have the highest odds of getting it right. After having seats built not exactly per spec, I've learned what things need to be said to them to get them built right, usually. For example: I have all my seats built with french seams. You won't even find that option on their site, or at least I can't. It makes for a flusher seam and looks nicer. The problem that I have is that they have too much employee turnover, and just about the time I get my rep properly trained, they swap a new one in. Sigh....

If you're going to rack up miles, the corbin is great. If you're going to the track and comfort isn't your main requirement, put the stock seat back on. The stock seat sucks in many ways, but it IS easy to slide sideways off of it.

I've almost dropped Corbin a couple times, because they are such a pain in the ass to deal with. But for the most part, their seats DO work well. Their philosophy of a firmer foam being better is a tough sell, but I DO believe in it. Folks sit on a soft seat and think it is comfy, but for longer seat times, a firmer seat with a properly shaped and supported seat pan IS better

Krassh,
Take a look at your invoice. You paid the $229 price. It was the higher price when you ORDERED it, but that isn't what I charged you.
