I hate snow. I showed her off to a friend last night, in my garage. I proceeded to have a wet dream last night wherein I rode her in sunny, warm weather.

off to sleep and hopefully I can get some work done tomorrow.

Here's what I've got done so far.

Heated grips, tour seat and bra.
Rear-end liposuction.
Remove lower belt guard.
Remove passenger pegs, replace with bars so I can strap tail bag down.
Remove reflectors.
Make plastic cover for wiring in nose so it isn't visible thru the screen.
Install LED voltmeter below dash
Replace "cool" LED signal mirror with Firebolt "mouse-ears" and splice signal wires to running lights.
Mirror polish inside, flat black outside of rear-cylinder heat-shield.
Almost done with bar-ends, sliders are next.

Learning how to make parts on my newly acquired Sherline lathe.

Hey Zack can you get better pictures of your work.

I got a used passenger seat off of ebay, looked brand new and I did not want to destroy it but I got it cheap,

I took it apart and bolted my tail bag to the plastic tray,

now it works like the passenger seat and I can lock it to my bike with no straps.

Zac, can you give a quick tech how to on your signal splicing :ie. wire colors and so forth. That would allow me to go ahead and run some bar end mirrors (the clearest view behind me) and not have to worry about mounting new signals.

Nickcaro....

Any chance of getting a photo of how your HID headlamps look against a wall? When I put them in my gixxer a few years back the reflector pattern caused 2 beams of light pointing way up and out. Couldn't get rid of them. I ended up going back to the stock lamp.

B_B -

I found most wiring on vehicles that's 2-wire is black for ground and "some color" for hot/signal.

That's how the running lights and the signals are coded.
The signal "hot" wire has black heat-shrink on it.
I just butt-spliced the wires and slid the casing from the running lights over it all.
The casing cleans it up and hides the splice.

They aren't near as bright as the ones from the mirrors.
They aren't visible from the side.
I use hand signals also for emphasis sometimes, YMMV.

BTW Zac, are you still using the stock running lights or did you change to amber?

I got a tail light from Robert, at XBLights.
LED, clear lens, signal/tail/stop. Very happy.
Robert is First Class.

Sold the OEM signals to a BadWeBber.

I also came to the conclusion that the running lights as turn signals will be out shined by the head lights right next to them.

I am working on something better and when I get it worked out and completed I will post pictures.

When are you going to be at New England Drag Way?

I have a lot of travel coming up between now and mid April. So I would say late April is the soonest.

Andella,

although a projector housing would really focus them better, I'm amazed at how tight the pattern remained after installing the HIDs. I used a fast shutter speed on those pics to emphasize how tight the pattern remains.

I rarely find a need to use the high beams unless I'm all alone out there.

Scott I probably will go on the first friday night that is nice out,

I am not sure what I will need to get by tech with this bike, do you know if like I need a kill switch line and leather pants? or will it depend if I get my bike under 11 seconds?

It would depend. Why not be optimistic and safe and get the tether and pants?
I am going to add a tether even though I definitely do not need one and I already wear leather pants at the track.

Hey Scott do you really need to do a burn outs?

I have never done a burn out to cheap to waist rubber.

I am getting a tire changer so I can change my tires, the guys say they go through tires in like 3000 miles, I have three bikes so it will pay for itself and the last time I got my tires change they scratched the wheels,

I like the look of the tether, but that gives you away that you race the bike,

I have seen some nice pants but not sure what is safe for track days so I got to make a call again,

I had called the school and asked about using textiles and he said I could,

I ride with them now over my pants, but I keep burning holes in them so I want leathers,

I also found out that my jacket was causing my helmet to shake, someone mentioned it might be what I was wearing so I wore my leather jacket and it cured that problem,

so now I need new gear.
