What would it take to get my hands on one. Here's what I've done so far.
- asked the dealer (they're on order is the answer)
- checked BadWeB and I don't seem to put my hands on information regarding the manuals.

I'd like to have one for sure for my own use and entertainment. But I'd think the dealer techs really need to get their hands on one too. Can somebody report on progress toward making them available to the general public?
Thanks in advance... Asbjorn

I spoke with Customer Service this morning about our Manual but to no avail. We probably won't see the complete manual until the Summer Dealer Meeting. We may see a couple of "chapters" by the first of March, however. Not what I wanted to hear! If anyone hears anything different, please let us all know.
Thanks,
BudC

Found out about the Shop Manuals yet?

If they are going to be long in the coming I suggest the following:
Publish some of the routine maintenance topics under the Owners Section on Buell.com

I suggest the following topics:
- front and rear wheel removal and installation with bolt torque specs.
- EMC codes and their meanings (especially those that can be detrimental to continued operation)
- various bulb removal and installation procedures
- brake pad replacement
- bolt torque chart (if that makes sense)
- TPS reset (just kidding!)

This list needs to be short and just address critical items that might need attention before the manuals are available. I am particularly interested in wheel removal and mounting procedure since I suspect I'll need a new rear tire in the not too distant future
Others: Feel free to add interim items to the list that might be needed before manuals are published.

Don't worry Buell, even with these bits published for free I will still buy a manual.
Asbjorn

You know more than I do . . . . I was getting info that they were on the way but have heard no more.

Except from three dealers wanting to service bikes. Apparently, and I hope one of the dealers can let me know this is wrong, but they don't have service manuals yet either.

>>>We probably won't see the complete manual until the Summer Dealer Meeting.

Bud: Did they mention to you . . . how the heck they intended for you to perform routine service?

I find it odd that a dealer contacts me for PDI info and can't get service manual types of info.

It doesn't inspire confidence, does it?

The Owners manuals are now available on the Buell Website, but not the service manuals. I've asked the parts guy at my dealer to keep a look out for one the next time he's at a dealer show. If he can get more than one I'll pass them along.

I just had my service done this week and the dealer had to have the factory fax him that part of the manual. They still don't have one.

Hey Court,
In fact, they did not. I had to ask that question for myself. The response kind of surprised me. I was told that some of the initial service routines were listed in the Owner's Manual and we should use that for now. They also told me that we should see three chapters of the manual being shipped out by March 1st. I think they said that it will be the chapters on initial care, chassis and possible electrical. Another thing that has not helped is the fact that both of the first two 1125R's were shipped without Owner's Manuals. I have had to order each one so on the last order I added an extra one for the Service Department to refer to. We just got our third 1125 in yesterday and I will be watching the un-crating to see if we get a manual with this one. I'll keep you posted.

Bud:

This is the second report of no owners manual shipped. I can work on that one. If you would, when you uncrate your next bike, be mindful of the details of shipping.

By that I mean that I'd like to have a detailed description of WHERE and WHAT is in the crate other than the bike.

In the last instance, chronicled here on Badweb, the owner (who is a dealer employee) reported there was no owners manual, yet the photos he posted clearly showed it. It appeared to be stapled to the crate.

I am curious (don't know, but curious) if we need to take another look at the crating protocol based on your (and other dealers) feedback.

Anyway . . . if you have one coming in the next day or so . . please make notes and send them to me with any suggestions you have.

I'll summarize it and send it to my cousin. His daughter's friend works and Buell and perhaps we can make a positive contribution.

Thanks for all you do,
Court

Court - I'm pretty sure it was two different people.
The pictures are from no_rice's uncrating and it was Bearly that didn't get a manual.

PS - Sun got oil filters and I picked up two. Going to use one in a few minutes. Thanks for any involvement.z

Put a $10 bill in the owners manual in the crate and I bet there will be no more "missing" manuals!

My Dealer at Grove's HD&B said they couldn't find the manual when I picked mine up either. So I'm missing one. When you get on the bike do you sit facing that little red thingy... the brake light I think?

yep, mine was stapled to the top left rear corner of the crate(if you were sitting on the bike) as you could see in that pic. easily found. bearly's apparently was not so easily found...

come on court, you have to give me a little more credit than that! lol

and i am hoping the service manuals show up sooner than later also: (

For those of you with access to H-D net, a draft of chapter 1 (1125R service manual) is online.

Rotating the engine is supposed to be far easier on this bike compared to the XB tho... for what it's worth.

by looking through the manual it looks alot harder to me. you have to remove things like the shifter. footpeg stuff. fuel lines. stuff for the radiators, and so so much more

now maybe after it is done a few times some steps will be able to be eliminated like on the xb's. on them there are alot of steps that really dont need to be done to rotate the engine. i have helped rotate a few motors, and i have seen it down, header changed and back up again in 45 minutes or less.

i guess time will tell. i hope its just not as bad as it looks!

I was "told" that all the radiator stuff rotates down with the engine. Maybe I got "told" wrong!
Why would the shifter need to be removed tho? Must hit the drive cover I guess.

i dont remember exactly what it said. i may be incorrect about that. i'll look again and see. i think it did say you had to do something with the radiators. it might have even been just removing the scoops or something.

you've got me why some of the stuff it says has to be removed. like i said, i am hoping that a quicker way is figured out at some point!

makes me wonder what kind of a time frame they call for to do it. a couple hundered bucks to have a shop change your spark plugs is going to make alot of people unhappy for sure if it takes real long.
