the first 3 bikes we were supposed to get(one is mine) got moved back to january 8th of 2008. i know they were having a bit of a problem, but damn thats next year....

mine (the first that was supposed to arrive here)was to be shipping out on november 7th. today they say this!? maybe i will just back out on mine and wait on that 09. it would only be a few more months.

i'm just very disappointed i guess, considering we all saw the pictures of the first production one being produced awhile ago

so shouldnt we just call them an 09 then?

does anyone actually know whats up? is there a bigger problem then we thought? maybe it is just us i guess, but from what i am seeing we are not the only ones. of course i want it to be as good as possable. but this is supposed to be the first new vehicle i have EVER purchased. at this rate it will only be the current model for about 6 months if i am lucky.

yes i am ranting, not that i like my bikes any less, i just had some plans for it this winter.

a straight forward "what the heck is going on" would be much appreciated!

I think he meant January 08, but I sure hope this isn't the case or there are going to be a bunch of disappointed upset folks.

I called the dealer to check on my expected ship date. It's still 11/20 was 11/19. But one of the 2 they were supposed to get in November has been pushed to January.

I've got cash that's burning a hole in my pocket. If mine gets pushed to January, I'll probably just go buy the Triumph I was originally saving for.

If mine gets moved out to January, of 09 OR 08, I'll say screw it and get an XB12R or an old 9R. Running out of decent riding weather fast here.

Come on Anony clear this up!!!

I don't understand the change in heart over a month or two--especially for someone who is/was so "into" the 1125r

I really want that bike. But to wait till January??
I was just leaving work when I saw this and bounced a bit hard. Right now, I'm home and it's a lot less credible.

I'm sitting tight for now, but a quick denial from an Anony would assuage these "late in the year" jitters.

Think I'll have a beer and take a deep breath.

Patience fellows, these bikes WILL be worth waiting for, period. Why jump models or brands to be in a buying frenzy. Many of us will not be able to ride much until next spring and have time to break the bikes in properly (slowly) during the few nice days to ride during winter. For the rest of you in nice climates the first sentence holds and most of us can ride our old bikes until then. Stay safe and patient. Bob.

I'd rather doubt it . . . . I suspect it's a priming the parts pipeline issue.

no rice chill out dude. it's two months. how dare buell deliver your 2008 bike in the first month of 2008. i'd call the dealer and tell him to forget it and get a vespa.

It's a huge hurdle to leap getting ALL (each and every single one) the RIGHT parts in the RIGHT place and in the RIGHT quantity.

This has been tough in prior launches and Buell has no lock on it.

Plus if there WERE any changes made over the last couple months I'm sure there was some scrambling to produce and implement production procedures for parts. Be mindful that you don't "learn as you go along" and, say it's something as simple as a heat shield, the first one HAS to be right and they need to be consistent.

Think of target shooting when you don't get that one "sighting shot".

It's cool . . it's very cool.

ok i'll walk out from behind my parts counter and tell my sales manager to cancel my order. where does one buy a vespa?

thats not even close to what i said. i just said i was all excited because it was supposed to be on its way, and i had planned to ride it halfway across the state to thanksgiving since it was supposed to be here. now it doesnt even look like it will make a christmas present

on top of that i asked what was up. i am just starting to wonder if it is going to be along the lines of the rocker and not one gets shipped until there is enough for every dealer to get one. if thats the case then fine, but i would love to know.

i still plan on getting one, i am just starting to wonder if i will be able to scrounge one up sooner.

Well, HD-Net shows our first order has been delayed until Jan, but the rest of them are "plant released" for the end of November!! I assume this was an oversight at H-D, but it's ridiculous when other dealers show all orders have been pushed back, while only our "first order" was sent to January...... scratching my head trying to make sense of it all!!!

No_rice... it's not just the Rocker, we've had several touring models and particular colors that have been pushed back from phase 2 to phase 3 because of "issues at the plant" It's going to be a rough ride for H-D.... we've had several deposits pulled because customers don't want to wait. Let's hope Buell will communicate and keep this amazing draw towards the 1125R.

So far our first bike has been pushed to 1/08; the rest haven't changed..yet. My GM called SPOC and there aren't any major problems for them to report, so my suspicions are there is a part supply issue like Court said. Matter of fact, I think Anon posted that here on badweb in another thread, maybe this past Tues/Wed?

Relaxxx...I rode the bikes at Pocono, and it is definitely worth the wait.

Parts problems? Let's hope it's that simple!
Better to have it right before release or it's just food for the haters.

You really think their going to tell you if it's a parts problem, production problem or a problem with the bike?
Again, regardless of the problem, I want a bike that is 100% ready for release. Better to wait than be pissed.

Tim,

Maybe the person typing in the delivery schedule/order for your 1125R was not as skilled as you when you typed in your thread title. ;)

Personally, I'm happy to wait until January or February if it means that Buell is making sure that everything is Right.

At this point in the riding season, I'm taking shorter rides on slower roads so I can still enjoy the bike but stay comfortable when I'm out for a few hours. If the 1125r came tomorrow, I'd just be trying to figure out ways to go somewhere warmer to ride.

January will be here before we know it.

I would hope the reason is not its just waiting for parts. If it was the first rodeo you did than maybe. I can empathize with those that plans are effected my this unexpected change.

That said, people if it means less trips to the dealer in the future than its worth it. This is coming from a former early build 06 Ulysses owner. If I had waited it would have saved me much frustration.

From the AP Wire:
A man appearing to be in his mid fifties went berserk in the town square in San Dimas today. After a brief scuffle he was subdued by the local police and detained for questioning.

The motive for this outburst is not clear as he was shouting something about delay and 11:25.

He was released on his own recognizance after his legal council convinced the authorities that the man would behave so long as he could get regular visits to the Harley Davidson dealer. Homeland security was not contacted.

You might thing it was funny Neal, but not for me. First of all, now I have a record and then second of all 2hrs in a cell ain't fun either! And then the lawyer bill.. blood sucking bastards!

I have promised the authorities here in San Dimas CA to behave until mine gets here. I just don't get the media though, I clearly said 1125R not 11:25. Can't they get anything right! Par for the course these days I guess...
