This thread is very dangerous and completely compelling. It is a better collection of photos than anywhere I have seen, any more? Maybe a merge with the Homecoming thread and we can just lust lazily from our keyboards. It could be a long 6 months, but just a good chance to build up the nestegg before delivery arrives. I don't know if I'll really be able to let go of the XB9S, it really is all dialed in now and low miles, but I'll need to make room in the garage somehow. Maybe the 78 RD400 with the weeping base gaskets will have to go on the block after all, I might get close to what the offers will be on the XB9, don't you think? | ||

I saw it in person at Road America and all I can say is to wait until you see it in person. People have complained about the fairing, I think it looks like an XBRR fairing with headlights and a clear windscreen. I thought the scoops looked dead sexy in person. Anyone notice the kickstand? Its a piece of modern art! | ||

Man I dont know what all the naysayers are about. That bike looks bad ass!!! Really different and with the rider aboard looks evn better. I have a s4rs duc and I remember when the new 1098 came out. It was the same on the ducati boards "it looks like a jap bike" or "looks like a R1" but it sold like crazy and I predict the same here! Get your deposits down now, I know I did. | ||

what's with all that black cowling looking, cover stuff over the exhaust pipes closest to the tips? I don't know if I like the exhaust design, it's kind of femine. Is that for aerodynamics? Also, does anyone think that they'll be blowing hot exhaust and unburned oil/fuel gunk all over their rear brake rotor? Seems about 10-12 inches to the rotor surface. The big profile shots are good but the really close up ones are the ones I like best. If you are like me, that's the way I look at a bike. I get down on the floor and peek behind fairings, look at how things are laid out and how they work. I want to see the "guts and feathers" of the bike. I never feel like a bike is really mine until I have taken it all apart and put it back together again. For instance, one of the pictures I've seen (I don't think it was one of these)shows the front head pipe. It is actually two small pipes when it leaves the head(remember, there are four valves for each cylinder)and then combines into one pipe. I love stuff like that. I can't wait to see the bike in person! | ||

I think they should have turned the Pegasus on the left side of the bike around so it faces forward. I know it's probably cheaper to just make one of those covers, but it would have been a nice touch.  | ||

Did anyone else notice the widely used "self rescuing Torx fasteners"? The ones with a male hex head with a Torx pocket in the center of it? Maybe the male hex head that can be used should you be unlucky enough to strip the shoulders out of a Torx drive pocket. The hex head is small, I'd probably recommend a six point socket for it. Some things never change. In the close ups of the left and right foot pegs areas I see button head Torx screws, the male hex/Torx screws mentioned above, and also Allen head cap screws. Hopefully, those will include both Imperial and Metric sizes so that it does not put any of the tools in a well equipped tool box at some risk of getting rusty... And the belt tensioner appears to not be spring loaded and not adjustable for location or tension. I wonder if that means the geometry remains the same through the travel of the rear suspension and no adjustment is needed. Jack | ||

The left side Pegasus logo is the wrong one. They have both left and right facing ones, but whoever applied them on the studio bike goofed. The bike shown at Road Atlanta had two left facing Pegasus logos on it's engine, so the universe remains in balance.  | ||

I am so completely excited about this bike and what it means for Buell. I think there will be several folks who wouldn't have given an XB a second look who will now be putting Buell on the list. We may lose a bit of the exclusivity, but gain a larger market making even more Buell creations possible. | ||

And if this machine is what we ALL hope it is--the complete package with rave reviews from the bike rags--I believe it will be a massive success. I also believe there is a market out there that WANTS to buy American and will soon have a machine that is on par with the anything in the world. | ||

why must every one complain about such a great bike? I love this new bike I cant wait to get home and buy one. Buell is not killing the aircooled xb line yes the motor is not made in america but who cares aussies are not bad people yes some people dont like the radiator covers but but if you dont tha A. dont buy the bike B. buy the bike and im sure the aftermarket world will make something to replace it. yes it doesnt have the HP the duc has but it has a bertter looking power curve than the duc and it is several thousands of dollars cheaper. No it doesnt have a full faring so its not race ready but neither is any other bike you can go buy off the show room floor cuz most sport bikes/super bikes what ever if you look at the bottom of them dont have true belly pans on them (not all but several) for instance go look at the famed gsxr they dont.and you still have to replace all the fairings any way and besides just who are you going to be competitve against with a bike strait off the floor? other privatiers and thats it. Oh and the last one is the chain/belt issue if you dont like the belt then im sure some one in the aftemarket will come up with a solution for that too. But honestly the belt to me is a good thing too keep. those who dont like the pipe (im included) there is the aftermarket for that and the little plate holder that looks like a mini version of the lightning cheese grater (also a dilike of mine) there is the aftermarket as well. so stop complaning about this wonderfull motorcycle and be glad that our beloved company has came out with a bike that will no dout be the birth of a new era for Buell and will no doubt increase there fanbase as well as there sales and ultimatly helps them no longer be in H-Ds shadow not that i have anything what so ever aginst H-D i love H-D and my whole familly rides H-D except me but no one in my family disowns me for riding or likeing buell in fact my dad used to own a s1 and he was one of the first 50 people to own one but he sold it because he was getting old and had too many bikes (I was sad and wanted it). OK Im threw ranting about everyone eles ranting oh yea one last thing THANK YOU MR BUELL THIS BIKE IS MY DREAM COME TRUE. | ||

It's about dang time! The Pegasus logo is one of the best in the industry! Some (pick a derogatory noun) decided that badges/logos should be ovals/circles. The guy/group should be spayed/neutered. Please!! Use a creative logo for a creative design!! G. | ||

I have an Aprilia Tuono which uses a Rotax built V-twin of 998cc. This has all the motor you could ask for and now an 1125cc version should be just bad-ass..They make beautiful music too.. | ||
