Apparently, this is the new Hero 250 designed with EBR's help:

Not bad!

That tank shape looks strangely familiar, or should I say, air box? Nice bike though and I'd own one if the price is right. Looks like it's got nice ergo's.

Apparently 5 new models were announced, including this one and the previously shown Hero "Leap" hybrid scooter, which was also co-designed by EBR.

Info here: http://indianautosblog.com/2014/01/hero-motocorp-u nveils-five-models-114709#

I can't say I really like the looks, but the Hero RNT TDI diesel concept peaks my interest. Not pretty, but I can see the squared off shape being useful for the intended market.

I'm thinking that bike will show up in US showrooms along side the RX in the latter part of this year. Not bad, I'm not a big singles fan, but hey its got two wheels so I'd ride it.

I like it. No offensive styling, ABS, monoschock...sweet!

I bet the pricing on this will be very attractive too.

The article says it will be priced at Rs. 1.5 lakhs, which is apparently 150,000 Rupees, which is about $2400 US at today's exchange rate. I'm sure it'd be quite a bit more after meeting US DOT regs, import fees, etc., but that still leaves a lot of room for it to be priced decently.

That's the prettiest little CBR600RR I've ever seen. That's a good thing, because CBR's are beautiful. A slight redesign may be in order for the US market though, it may be too close to ripoff. I like it though. ABS, too, and yes, that's a gas tank.

I AM a singles fan. And my local EBR dealer in St. Pete confirms they will have them in the showroom along with the EBR's when they are released.

Some stiffer springs, Gold Valve Emulators, a fork brace, a big bore high comp kit, and at just over 300lbs - now that spells fun!!! Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

Check out how the little 250 spanks the Blast's replacement.

Those thin spiders legs like spokes look very Erik Buell as does the large front brake disc, and of course isn't that tank shape familiar.

Whether EBR / Erik were involved or not, it looks to me like it's got Yamaha Fazer meets CBR meets Buell in there!

I actually saw it in person at the IMS Phoenix. In person it looks o.k., kind of like a miniature v-rod. It is striking how small it is though.

Almost twice the weight of a Blast with the same power - pathetic - HD's head is so far up their own ass it's not funny.

That Hero/EBR bike rocks and has serious potential, and already raises the bar for the other 250cc competition street bikes.

Come on Blake, don't let your personal preference masquerade as if it is some kind of objective measure. You clearly forgot about the real ugliest bike ever sold, the Ulysses : )

I can't help but think hardly any here would give the Hero 250 a second glance if it were not for the EBR connection.

The Blast remains the ugliest bike ever to come out of America. It was a cash cow is all. Erik didn't have the balls to fulfill his promise and post up the bean counting proof to show otherwise after he said he would. You took his side Blake, but of course back then all was well in the world with Harley. Now you expect me to believe this Harley offering is uglier than a Blast now you hate the Mothership? Where is your motorcycling dignity old friend? Walk to the light they use to say around here.

I have to disagree Rocket. Posting better numbers than the CBR 250 is a big deal and the price is another factor. }

Your'e right Frank. Beauty is subjective. Not calling it garbage, just ugly. It may work well for its intended purpose.

I really like the looks of the Uly, more so after removing much of the plastic and the stock mirrors.

The 1125R? No comment! uhoh : )

The EBR brand makes me interested in the 250 Hero. The Blast is so much fun to ride. My wife's other bike, TU250, is fun too. My favorite bike to tour on was the 250 Ninja she once had. I love my XB9SX, but the little guys can be ridden so hard you just can't help liking them.

HX250R.......First thought..get rid of the passenger pegs and brackets..put a round headlight and under bar mirrors in place of the front fairing...tidy up the tail and put a pod where the rear seat is...ditch the ABS completely...grind the extra bits off the frame and paint it dessert camo.

Going by the specs advertised by Kawasaki for their new Ninja 300, it looks like the HX250R could be competitive. Against the Honda CBR250, it looks to beat it.
This of course is only going by manufactures numbers...
