Ferris, when are you going to breakdown and buy a rickshaw or sidecar for the bike? Must be something you can do to attend all the events.

attend all the events? oh geez, dude, if you only KNEW my history since i bought my Buell...

which Cali ride are you planning on making next year? let me know if i can help in your planning.

i'm taking two weeks off next July, to do WSB at Laguna Seca and then take the long way up to Mount St. Helens for SPLASH, plus i've got a little something planned for September...

btw, i had a sidecar chucked up for awhile to my '86 FXR-P, was quite the hoot to ride. (er, drive?) :)

FB

ps: any idea how many points your last name is worth in SCRABBLE? :)

On Triumph...the only one that's ever sparked my interest is the Speed Triple. A fine bike in all respects.

The new 600 has little different from any other, IMO. I hate the faceted bodywork styling all the big manufacturers seem to be adopting. UGLY! they're all starting to look like the "wobbly goblin"...why???

Rick_A...all that faceted bodywork that seems popular among manufacturers these days is why I purchased a used CBR600F4 over a new F4i earlier this year. The Daytona is a striking bike, so are many others. But like Court, make mine a yellow Lightning. (I'm usually at Rossiter's early each Sat. morning talking to Jimmy and drooling over the XB's)

New Buellie here. Anyone recommend a place to buy the Buell SuperTrap silencer kits ~ other than the dealer? Also the carb jetting kits.

My bikes a '98 S3T.

Stephen:

Welcome and I have GREAT news......check out the sponsors (either the sponsor page or the banners). If it's worth having for a Buell one of them will have it and we've pretty much put most of the goodies through their paces. Be certain to take a stroll through the (KV) Knowledge Vault.

But, most of all, welcome.

Stephen...Welcome to the Buell family!!!

I also have a 98 S3T. I'm running a SuperTrapp (the new design) with 15 discs, K&N filter in a gutted airbox & Thunderslide Jet Kit. I don't remember the jet settings off the top of my head. I think the slow jet is a 45 with a 180 main. It could be a 190 main.

My other 98 has a Makuni Flat Slide with Buell Race aircleaner, K&N filter and Vance & Hines pipe. This bike has a ton more throttle response.

I haven't had either bike on the dyno so I can't compare actual numbers. Seat of the pants tells me the Makuni & race air kit make slightly more power.

Oh Buellish ones:
I would like to go for the Supertrapps on the S3T, because the V&H have to be repacked and have a big PITA factor. I DON'T want a loud exhaust note though. How loud are the Trapps? I want to open the bike up a bit for deep breathing without offending every dog in the county.

ToasterTan: The SuperTrapp is as loud (or quiet) as you want it to be. More disks = more loud, less disks = less loud. Personally, I'm a big fan of Two Brothers Racing mufflers. Good product, fair price, great customer service. A real nice but not too loud sound.

Why don't you get yourself over to the N.W. section of the Storm Fronts and meet some of the local folks?

Guys,
I have a friend looking for a 2003 Black and Silver V-Rod.His local dealer wants $18,650.We would be willing to travel for a low enough price. Thanks for your help.
Mike
P.S.The $18'650 is for the Black and Silver model specifically. The plane aluminium ones are cheaper,
and my friend only wants the two tone.

Sure makes those who, based on reading "statistics" in 1987 cried out "the Harley-Davidson bubble is gonna burst soon" look foelhearty for blindly beleiveing stats.

It's nice to see both KTM and Ducati backing away from being pushed over the financial cliffs and showing growth.

Wanna take a crack at which company, on the list, will not be in existence when the next list is compiled?

Hootowl...IMO that's a little overkill for a rear brake. With a braided brake line the stock Buell brake can be locked up easily.

José...I'd rather see something like that with a big frikkin' air-cooled single.

I got my Buell back on the road today. Happy days! It feels really odd being able to see my front wheel while on the bike with my new headlight/flyscreen setup.

Triumph's numbers are going to look pretty good this time next year. Of course it won't really mean anything, but the numbers will look good.

As we've discussed before, those sales numbers are not accurate for Buell. The first quarter was a complete write off, and these numbers only reflect sales through August projected out.

Even with the lost first quarter, I would expect growth for the year when the numbers are actually in, and that will be an impressive accomplishment.

the super tracker looks awesome. HD and buell could sell a lot of bikes, doing some special runs like this. I would like to see an S-3 type Buell using the new motor. REX

I agree, but it's still sweet.

And I can lock up my rear tire easily even without braided lines. Especially when it's not on the ground. :)

Loki,

We have some DCBRAG members in the Ocean City, MD area, and Linda's sister lives in Dover, so we end up there on occasion. We were just in Millsboro Delaware two weekends ago to see the Punkin Chunkin, too much fun!
