Partly out of frustration, partly as a hobby I have started a small business for Buell aftermarket products. It costs me more that it makes, and I can't justify a sponsors link. I am developing improvements to Buells that I can post on other sites. Is BadWeb interested in knowing about these? [redacted] Who can tell me if I can post the info, and where?

I may be wrong, but I believe that you cannot promote your products/business without being a sponsor. What you probably can do is post pictures of mods you have done on your bike(s) and people can PM you about them...or people that purchase your mods can help you promote them by telling others via this forum of how much they like them.

I would encourage you to talk to Blake directly about your situation, and when possible...become a sponsor.

Good Luck!

You can always pair up with another sponsor!

Thanks for the ideas.

Teaming with a sponsor may be an option. That is a good idea.

Dressing my bike up and saying "BTW you can get this here from me" would be like cheating. I've seen it done, and it tend to irk.

Looks like you got away with it right here in the classifieds

I think the problem would be if you came here and posted nothing except ads for your products. If you're an active member and you let it be known that you also develop and sell parts I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. I don't think your case is totally unique. But talk with Blake first, I'm sure you can work something out.

Hi Bake,

I'm not sure I've got away with anything. I haven't posted a web site or even a business name. Maybe I shouldn't have said what the product was, but I'm not running a business on PM.

I have sent a mail to the custodians to find out about sponsorship, but judging by the existing sponsors, I'm well out of the league.

Edit: If I'd spotted the custodian's link earlier I wouldn't have posted this topic.

There could be a wonderful opportunity there. The geographic location you are in is one of Buell's great markets (except for the little cancellation next month) and there's a lot of enthusiasm.

This would bring "tribal knowledge" and access to an otherwise difficult market to enter.

In the meantime, I'd connect with Dris (in Holland with an active membership in the hundreds) and Angelo in Milan and bring them on as distributors.

Pardon the interruption . . . . I'm an entrepreneur at heart.

Thanks Court

I think that teaming up is a good idea. Nothing wrong with being an entrepreneur

Holland seems pretty big judging by some of the forums.

Thanks again

Peter,

You might be surprised. DarkHorseMoto was born out of a low side on my way to work...

Hi Skully,

My store was born from a Firebolt Flippie on the way home from work.

After enquiring, sponsorship is reasonable so I'm in. Our banner should be here in a couple of days.

Thanks for your posts.

Now if someone can please tell me whether rebound damping can impact head-shake, I'll be set.

Skully,

I have ordered a few sets of your sliders through one of our suppliers for the shop. They look good. I'll try them on my bike.

From your description yours bolt through the axles. I am currently running LSL. These are held on with rubber connectors expanded by bolt compression. They look like they could be pulled out in a slide.

You'll see yours on our website soon.

Peter

Hi Rah7777777
(Robert it seems)

I started making a tail light insert before I knew that you existed. Are you doing inserts and not just lights? I don't like reinventing the wheel, but I am also a long way down the track - in fact I'm there.

Perhaps we can look at getting yours into BuellerParts beside ours. Focus on differences instead of similarities.

Peter

Hello Peter.

Mine are plug and play assemblies. no inserts.
couple screws, and electrical connections and your done

For me there is no way to do just an insert, as I use ALL that space in the housing. Most if it is over-kill i'm sure, but better safe then sorry.
(sorry can't give details on my circuitry)

Honestly, I doubt i will ever sell out of another store besides www.xblights.com

But thats just because I like keeping it low key. I want to be 100% involved in every question, design and order.

I do like your idea on focusing on differences! And I hope there will be a good amount of them. But if not, competition makes the world go round

Thanks for the reply Robert

I won't be much competition; choice at best.
