Attitude adjustments going on here: it looks like the Cyclone is the father of the Blast. I'm thinking that would make a good upgrade and I'm confident enough of a rider to have a that much more power. It seems quite similar in other respects which is what is appealing to me now. Thoughts anyone?

If you want an older classic, get the tuber. If you want a damn good modern sport bike, get an XB. Both are at rock bottom prices. If you go for the older tuber, look for a white lightning or another classic model, it’ll be a good investment and you’ll probably save it from becoming someone’s chopper build.

Also parts are interchangeable from Blast to XB and back. And cheaper and easier to find.

Either way I’ll be jealous!

Well- I want a Buell.. but it's for work, traveling during the day- 75-120 miles a day, on and off and on and off...so a sport position is not the best thing for that role, which is why and how I've put 22000 miles on the Blast. More range and power with similar ergonomics would be ideal.

I need more mileage on tires too! I'm ready for my THIRD rear tire this season. The MT75 Pirelli rear- just melts away, I went through one just in August!

XB Lightning comes with standard handlebars which can also be raised or modified. More parts are available for pegs and seats. It’s more of a reliable bike too.
Or the XB Ulysses is a great choice for commuting.
For everyday I’d get an XB. For a weekend bike or garage ornament, I’d get a tuber.
But it is your choice. That’s just my opinion.

Of course if I already knew someone with a Cyclone to sell, low miles and a good price, that might sway me. But to start looking for one, I’d go XB.
