Are there any open primary kits that fit the blast?

Yes, very expensive. $3000 last I checked. It's for an XB, but it's the same.

WORD I was thinkin this same thing...along with all the other mods that would look hot plus add performance with the weight reduction of going to a belt drive

You could do that, but the transmission and primary share the same oil, there is a fairly large passage between the transmission and primary. I suppose you could plug the hole up somehow. I understand they is an expensive kit that allows you to run a semi-open primary and converts it to a belt. Seems like it might be a hot setup if you were building a custom with a Buell Blast engine. I have heard of the kit but never seen one.

Trojan Horse was the only XB/Sportster primary belt drive I ever found. They were a sponsor of Badweb. Unfortunately it seems they no longer exist. It was expensive.
Sportster primary belt drives were also available about 20+ years ago for a brief time. Nobody seems to want to make primary belt drives for Sportsters, even though plenty make them for "Big Twin" Harleys spanning 70+ years of production. Belt primary's are available to be run wet or dry, which simplifies installation.
I've been watching for a Sportster belt primary for a long time.

Courtesy of a Badweb search!!!

Although a 3" belt drive is way overkill for a sportbike, especially if you plan on leaning it over.
Again, it's almost $3000.

XL Belt Drive

"Must use forward controls" Lol! You can use rearsets, but even the 2" model will put your foot out there. But I'm betting if they machine the kits themselves, they could make a slimmer version and skip the fancy covers.
Trojans was rearset compatible!

I wonder how you fill the transmission fluid on that conversion...

Slowly, very slowly!!
Vent line and drill a level plug. If you're going to the trouble of welding the case closed, a plug should be easy!
