I thinking about doing a corner cut on my exhaust plus changing the intake to a velocity stack. Currently on stock jets with a ez adjust idle mixture screw at 3 turns (1/2 more than stock). So when I buy new jets should I do a 170 or 175? Thanks! | ||

Yes. 170 is stock. 175 may be too rich if you're still using a stock exhaust. You may not notice a difference with either, but its really a point of you being proactive in your tuning rather than taking recs. Add that stack and you're running into unchartered territory on what works best. It won't be much different than anything else, but again it will be trial and error on your part on getting it tuned perfectly. | ||

44,45 or maybe 46 on the slow jet. 48 will be too rich. (I really wasn't sure what you were choosing there). | ||

Yeah I didn't make that really clear. Sorry! I was planning on doing a 45 slow, but I'm not sure if the corner cut exhaust would require a higher than 170 primary jet. I'm thinking probably not, but y'all have a lot more experience with this than I have so I figured I'd ask. (Message edited by Caleb.W on July 29, 2013) | ||

Is there any advantage to getting a genuine jet over an OEM equivalent? I was planning on using jetsrus.com | ||

Got the new jets and it runs great. Though I have to make this comment for posterity. Make sure you use the right size screwdriver. That can mean the difference between unscrewing, and rounding out. Also I ended up using the 45/170 combo. I'm running a V&H exhaust with velocity stack and prefilter. Also I live about 6 feet above sea level which seems like it'd make it too lean, but so far it isn't (no backfire etc.) (Message edited by Caleb.W on August 09, 2013) |
