Are there any things I should be aware of before removing my gas tank? | ||

Turn the fuel valve off! Once you get it off make sure when you set it down it does not get turned on. | ||

Tried getting it off last night, I got caught on the heads. What's the next thing I should do cause there isnt enough clearance? | ||

Remove the gas tank cover. Remove the two rubber keepers from the front lower sides of the tank? With the fuel lines removed lift the rear of the tank and push down on the front of the tank while sliding the tank to the rear of the bike. Once you get it off it goes back on easier. Also it might make it easier if you remove the panel from the left side of the bike just behind the fuel valve. | ||

EZ - no I have no type of manual Swampy - thanks a lot it was easy after i got those off. The problem - it lost power after I was riding down the freeway and stopped, it fired right up but wouldn't stay alive with the throttle open at all. Checked the boot when the tank was off it was good, so i replaced the fuel filter cause my mechanic friend said that was the problem, still misfiring. Is it the ignition module? | ||
