I have a 2004 Blast with 2700 miles. I do not notice a "box of rocks" sound coming from the primary chain indicating it is loose. It is still at the original factory setting. It shifts fine, too. Do I really need to fool with adjusting it then?

Can you get to 95mph?

I did last year, about 600 miles ago at 2,100 mi. I had it to 80 last week and there was still plenty of throttle left. The bike is stock, except for the tires.

I'd leave it alone, no clutch dragging, or rattling, or loss of top end - sounds like your bike is golden!

I now have 3700 miles on the Blast. I am getting a metallic sound that was not there before. I have yet to adjust the primary from the factory setting. The sound is not constant and isn't there at idle speed but it is noticeable at somewhat higher rpms. My other idea is that it is knock from the off brand gas I bought. Any ideas?

I just adjusted the primary. It was still at the stock setting. I ended up moving the adjusting bolt about 1/8 inch higher. I used the finger tightening method, and then backed off. I would think that after 3700 miles that it needed adjusting probably pretty badly.

Does this figure of about 1/8 inch seem about right? My intuition from fixing cars and bicycles tells me I can't be too far off.
