Recommended Maintenance intervals: every 5000 miles change trans fluid every 2500 miles change oil & filter every 1000 miles replace White Brothers muffler They should change White Brothers to Why Bothers. | ||

LOL - I've had mine a while now - knock on wood and no problems - Getting power just about up there with the Force and just a few more ft/lbs of kick over the Force - I don't curb hop and I avoid speed bumps - also I slipped in a few thin rubber washers where I could. I skipped the torque cone - jetted up accordingly, got the set of 3 long bolts and added 11 more disks as research suggested - and netted a 5.5 increase in HP over the Bub and no torque loss - though just barely the same - a 0.3 drop - the Force would have been a 2 ft - lb drop but 1 to 2 hp on the top in the top area. - All in all I'm still happy and the welds looked good to me then and still do - knock - knock - lol Got Thump?! Went down to WB this morning to warranty my muffler/can (again). The can must be repacked every 25-30 HOURS running time, otherwise the packing blows out, and the front of the can overheats causing it to crack & break. This equates to repacking about every 500 miles to be safe. I have not had one last more than 1000 miles. They no longer make the Blast system so replacement parts will get tougher to find. Truly a 'race only' system! I am working on an alternate & cheap fix. PS WB customer service has been very good to me!(So far) GearheadErikO | ||

Sounds like a Force item - lol - But if and when my can goes out I'll just duplicate with the ST 3" universal and 21 discs and my performance should dial in the same or better! When I got my WB - one of their last - the welds had been gone over and made alot heavier than the welds of other WB systems for the Blast shown - so I feel confident of the header portion - lol - (actually had to sand one weld down a tad just to make it fit properly) but so far with 3000 plus miles no problems - knock - knock - Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ | ||

I STILL gotta say that the Pro Series pipe is probably the best bet for an all round bike. Seems to try to work in the most appropriate parts of the rev range and it's ROBUST. -Saro | ||

So they hold my muffler for 3 days, & don't call me to tell me they've decided not to fix it and that I should go get it welded somewhere(at my expense),or wait until the middle of February when they MIGHT get in some replacements! Great warranty-and only a thousand miles on it. I slapped a $20 Emgo muffler on it and will wait until february.(I figure I might as well have a back up muffler since the WB is so high maintenance). I'd hate to see someone waste $300 on the few remaining exhausts they have left.(no offense EZ)! | ||

I'm with saro..pro series pipe is pretty tough..i cant remember how many time i've hit the speed bumbs with it coming to and from work...the sound is not bad either...  | ||

THANKS.Got the message loud & all too clear. That answers my question whether the Pro series can take the abuse. Its just frustrating spending all that money (on WB) & less than a year later to have to fork out more $ for another exhaust. Of course I shouldn't be surprised, I already have boxes of aftermarket HD parts that don't work either!!! | ||

me and my buddy kevin have been toying with modifying the stock blast exhaust. ala the drummer that we did for the xb's. would anybody be interested in this and what kinda performance would you really want it to improve...besides the obvious broad torque curve. just checking | ||

I don't think it can be done because the header pipe is too small - all that would happen is you'd beat the V&H, D&D (this group's leader), Kerker, pro series group, but not the Force (leader), WB, or Bub group & if D&D is upgrading their system - will know soon - they will be part of the later group and probably leader. Because of the header, even the Bub* will have more torque. Good luck though! - I'd be real curious to what could be done with the stocker (lovingly reffered to as the boat anchor) to redeem it from its serious lack. Got Thump?! the stock blast exhaust is such an eyesore, on top of weighing a ton..even if a re-vamped one produced positive output, I would still have to lose the stock pipe on looks alone. plus the aftermarket pipes are just not that high priced | ||

This should have been posted here sometime ago and it kinda slipped my mind. Kevin said it was a no go on the Drummer for the Blast. The inside is a maze of plates welded to the muffler case unlike the XB that has tubes inside. I do need to get by Kevin's shop one day to see what we can come up with for my 600 motor. I have a filling my current setup won't let it breath like it will need to. Eric | ||

The time has come to paint my $90 exhaust. So, I attempted to unscrew the header nuts, but broke them off instead. Are these going to come out with EZ-Out, or do I have to drill the whole thing and retap the holes? | ||

Got the Pro series exhaust on. Sounds about as loud as the WB, but less like a dirt bike and more like a street bike.Packs a punch of an exhaust note! Car alarms beware! Just picked up a 2001 Blast with 400 miles for my son. Two questions for now. I've been looking on the websites for exhausts but don't see the header pipes listed (ie. supertrapp). Am I missing it? #2. Where can I locate the front fairing that is on the Crossroad Performance Blast? Thanks for the info. You have an excellent site. In fact, I took your carb jet setting info to the mechanic at the HD dealership and was thrilled and asked for more. He set the carb up just as you had listed. The bike scoots along. | ||

Check our Links to stuff you can't Find Here section for links to different Blast exhausts - Those made right now are the D&D, Bub, Kerker, Vance & Hines, & the unobtainable Whileyco. Made but no longer in production - Force, & White Brothers. Sta-Tune will do a custom for an arm and leg. Thanks for the information. I can get a Pro-Series pipe for about $180 but was not sure of any stats on it (ie. hp/torque gains) or what it sounds like. | ||

I think Buell.com gives out the gains. Stock feels powerwise about the same as the White Brothers just a little different on where it hits. Relatively quiet.(see earlier post!) edited by gearheaderiko on March 09, 2004 | ||

Looks like I have to drill out the studs. EZ-Outs would not work--too much rust. Got the pipe painted, though, so it looks better. Any ideas, or should I just drill out the shaft part and clean the threads with a tap? |
