Any suggestions why it would idle hi and never come down. This all started after driving 40 miles in off pavement bumpy conditions. Runs normally off idle.

Hi idle is symptom of richness/leanness and intake leaks - you do not just re-adjust the idle to "fix" it, that just hides the symptoms - with that said - the boot could just be loose, but rubber that old can just crack and should be replaced anyway. Rule that out first with a new boot, and other diagnosis will be closer to the mark.

OK. Anywhere on the board that has a step by step procedure on boot replacement.

So changed it and it still had a hi idle when start up and it lasted for about a minute then went down to 1100 rpm. Whats the spec?
