Author Message   Htsmatt Posted on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 - 04:44 pm:        Hello. My 2001 Blast sometimes starts ok, sometimes just clicks. Last time it just clicked, I noticed after only a few tries that the clutch cable was very hot. (It may get hot every time, I just hadn't noticed before.) What's up with that? Is the starter going bad? Any ideas/guidance appreciated. Matt   Gearheaderiko Posted on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 - 05:51 pm:        You have a loose, broken or disconnected ground. The clutch cable is acting as a ground wire thats why its getting hot! Look at the ground strap at the front of the engine where the top engine mount is. Its a bare braided steel ground strap near where the horn mounts.   Htsmatt Posted on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - 10:10 am:        Precisely right, Erik.
