I am using synthetic oil like in the crankcase - came in a 5 quart jug, so not sure exactly how much I put in the tranny. I never saw "teeth" per se when removing the inspection plate, but did see what looks like a smooth wheel. I have fluid up to the bottom of that. Is this right? Do I need more fluid? I read how bad it is to overfill so I want to make sure not to add too much, but at the same time, want to make sure I have enough to operate the clutch effectively. I also noticed the spacer is still on the primary,so not sure the first service was done. Have to wait for it until my inch pound wrench comes in, but wondered if the foot peg bracket will be in the way of accessing this? Thanks. Hil |

The smooth wheel has little gear teeth on the outside. If you shine a flashlight in there, you'll see them. If the spacer is there, it was never adjusted. There are no space issues getting to that, except that if you have a stock exhaust, you might need a crow's foot. |

Thanks Reuel, so if I have the fluid up to the bottom of that wheel, does that mean there is enough fluid in there? Thanks again - just don't want clutch failure at a critical time. Hil |

Find the gear teeth! If you're looking at something that's higher than the teeth, you'll end up with too much oil. That'll cause issues. |
