If you are parking in a fairly sloped area (not flat), is it OK to leave the bike in gear to prevent rolling? Alternatively, should the bike be parked perpindicular to the slope with stand on the downstream side if possible? Any other words of wisdom? Thanks

Luckily I don't have that problem often in Indy. When I do come across it, I leave it in first, and park perpindicular to the slope so it doesn't accidentally roll over.

Sorry, cant figure out the perpendicular but...
Leaving it in gear is fine.
Always park so the bike will roll backwards, forwards, it will go right off its kickstand (sometimes even if in gear). If you must park forwards 'downhill', run the front wheel against the curb.
If the street goes downhill towards the curb, back the bike into the curb.
Avoid parking so the bike is standing almost straight up.

Parking on the sidewalk can get you a ticket!~

I never leave a bike in neutral. I've seen a couple bikes fall over while their owners were unpacking. Still not sure how we avoided the domino effect!
