OK - we cracked into the primary and I held my breath as the case came off...no tiny little plastic dust bunnies!! In fact, we thought it looked pretty good for 51,000 miles.

I will replace the shoe, chain guide and associated bolts and gaskets. The only thing that I could see that might have caused the noise I was hearing is a little wear on the shoe, hopefully when it's all put back together, I will hear nothing but the typical thump of a single cylinder Blast.

I will post link below, if don't work, go to www.whereismaggiemae.com, top photo gallery and you will see "Inside Blast Primary".

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

Slightly new brake caliper on way, that should fix the noise heard back there.

On the road again....

Looks fine, the adjuster shoe is ever so slightly worn, but reusable.

What it looks like now says alot about how it was maintained before.

It could be just a loose sprocket nut as well - do as suggested - take it all the way down, bring it to speck and put back together to speck (except primary adjustment should be on the looser side by at least 5 more flats) and you should be good to go for another 50,000.
