Just purchased my first Buell which is also my first ever motorcycle.

It's a 2002 Buell Blast with 2701 miles on it. I am taking a small leap of faith on the rocker box gasket since I couldn't figure out where to find it to check(I do greatly appreciate the advice from those of you on here) however it was purchased from a harley dealership a year ago so I'm assuming it got replaced, and I couldn't see anything that looked like oil around the motor that may indicate leaking, so I think I'm good. I got it for an even $2,000 and I think I got a pretty good deal.

Here's a couple of pics(taken by the seller, I haven't had a chance to take any yet)

Now I just need this damned snow to melt so I can start riding , although the snow may be a good thing since my BRC class doesn't start until April. I also picked up "How to Ride a Motorcycle" by Pat Hahn and "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough and have discovered that I really don't know nearly as much as I thought I did about riding a bike. Kudos to whoever posted these books in the knowledge vault!!!

2002 are good bikes - but still the rocker cover gasket may go - not that big deal - the new replacement gasket should last. 2002 are otherwise good bikes - but at that age I would be replacing all the rubber, including the 'Boot', or go with braided line as I did with my 2000 bike - it will be done on the other soon enough when the second set of hoses finally go.
