OK, some would say this is for the Thumper forum, but it wouldn't be seen as much.
Here's my Fiance's Blast, with Uly flyscreen, windshield and headlights:

Thanks Dave!

I like it.

That's a creative use of stock parts to achieve the results you want.

Buells have to have more cross-pollination between the models than any other brand.

I think it is a tribute to the ingenuity not only of the engineers, but also the owners
that know what they want and find ways to make it happen with proven, sturdy, stock parts.

We have fire-blasts, a uly-blast, rs's and sr's, ssr's, uly-X, and I'm sure other variations
that I've forgotten or havent't seen. That's not counting ANY of the tubers either.

Simply amazing. I love the inventive spirit of Buellers!

The stock bars normally look ugly but with the Uly parts on them it looks like they were meant to be on the bike!

Wow! Thanks for all the positive comments.
I still have to paint 2 of the brackets. Maybe this will inspire the factory to produce something similar.
Most importantly, Belinda (my fiance) loves it.

All told, it was about a 5 hour ordeal. The funniest part was when I researched the service manuals to find that the Lightning/Uly dual headlights use the same connector and pin out as the Blast...Only problem is, the gender is reversed, (I could plug the headlights into each other) so I had to cut the connector off the stock headlight and solder it onto the new headlight. That part was easy though.

Thanks again for the positive response!

It a Buell P3X Telegonus.

Telegonus, son of Ulysses.

On that note they should have named the new TT "XB12XY" "Calypso" or "Circe" wife of Ulysses mother of Telegonus.

it would be even greater if they came out with a 750 or so to get a little more oomph. and using that concept right there would be a great seller.

Microchop that things looks amazing! Very creative and great idea. My wife has been wanting to change the look of her '06 Blast since we brought it home. She has never liked the look of the single headlight and has always liked the dual set up on my Lightning Long.
Is there any way you could post a parts list of what it took to pull the transformation off? Also, all said and done, how much have you invested in parts?
Thanks for you time and your help!

Thanks to all for the positive comments!

Hey Scott. How handy are you? while not adveanced fabrication by any means, this took some thinking to pull off.
Here's the price list from Appleton H-D:

black windscreen 59.95
clear windshield 59.95
windshield pins 5.00
windshield grommets 7.00
light assm. 80.40

Less the Badweb discount.

I didn't like the way the stock pins and grommets held the windscreen on, so I clipped the pins short, drilled them out and bolted the windscreen on.

Mounting the headlight is a bit of a challenge, 'cause it is meant to interface with features on the inst. pod casting of a Uly or Lightning. I made a u-shaped bracket that has 3 holes to take bolts in the stock headlight assembly's 1/4-20 inserts. the bracket was made from 1/8"x3/4" steel stock, form it around whatever will give you the desired shape.

I made the [still unpainted] fairing upper supports from the same material.
Mount the new fairing using the stock "wel-nuts" (rubber threaded fasteners). bolt the fairing's lowest holes through the stock headlight bracket's upper holes.

Remove the well-nuts from the stock headlight bracket's lower holes and drill a 5/16" hole in your newly fabbed upper fairing supports. Insert well-nut and screw away! Get longer bolts and spacers and mount the upper supports using the stock headlight bracket clamping bolt holes.

That is a very short description of the process. The mounting of the new head light "cradle" to the stock bracket did require welding.

Would you like close-ups of the bracketry?

Have a Merry Christmas!

you mind doing that. i could see my wife and even my daughter liking the way that looks.erik should take notice on that one. and what would your opinion be on a set of uly hard bags on an m2. think that might work. you know, like an m2t maybe.

That's really nice! I kind of miss my '00 Blast looking at those pix.

I wonder if you lost illumination going to the XB lights rather than staying with the large 7" bulb of the Blast.

I'll get some pictures ASAP. As far as the Uly bags on an M2, I am of the mind that anything is possible, and that I could probably do it, but I have little actual knowledge of the M2's construction.
The headlights are pretty dang bright, I see no decrease in illumination.
As far as the look, I did want an "all-Buell" solution...so it naturally looks good, but it hardly is my best "design" work.

Jason, thanks for getting back with a price and material list and for also giving some insight on how you pulled the transformation off!
If you could include some detailed pictures of your custom bracketry that would be greatly appreciated!
Custom fabrication and welding is nothing I'm afraid of as I have a Miller welder and more tools than I need in the garage and I work with my hands day in, day out.
Get back to me when you get a chance after the busy holidays are over, I'll check back in a day or 2!
Thanks!
