Hi everyone,

I am new to Badweb, so just want to Hi to all first.

I am starting a Café Style Blast project, and got some Pics of Ezblast wed page to post it here for Ideals.

I thing that the Blast was made for the Café Style, and we finally have a American bike to built it with.

So I though this would be a great place for everyone to post the Café Racer blast, so we can all take some inspiration for our own vision to built that unique style to reflect who we are.

Any way...I am on my way to built my Café Racer Blast, and will post it here when it is done..

Thanks..all...

Frank

The top Blast Is Terry Parson's - one of the first Blasts ever customized and one of the fastest in the US, the second is the classic Crossroads bike - good for a Drag racer - lol, and the third is Tony's/Xgecko - an oldtime first Blaster who's doing Navy duty right now - lol - another forefather of Blast customizing. Due to be back soon! Check or picture section for other Cafe types, my pic collection at Yahoo for others.

Welcome and enjoy!

Right - the small LP Cafe fairing, Bring the front and rear signals in by deleating the stocks, black superbike bars, traction grips, M2 levors, Crossroads Fork Brace,Customized Banke rearsets,Force, Bub, or D&D Exhaust, stack and stack filter intake, jetting 45/175, Do a custom carb kit secondary - sportster or Aftermarket, M2 or sporster adjustable needle, Avon or Pirelli tires, M2 locking gas cap, tank pad. For tonnage work - you'll need the 2000 heimjoint, 2000 front SB steel brake line, Works Suspension FR & Rr, a high comp - 10.5 to 11.0 piston, TS rings, SE ignition - go to 7500RPMs, Heavy duty springs, Guides (have them stepped in) and seals, headwork optional - but if your this far you might as well - its not like the guy has to balance it against another head - usually the hardest part of the job, B 70 or SE 550 cam and your good to go!
God - I just love a good Blast Project!

EZ..this is the large...LP Fairing. I am not sure if I put it on right because no instruction came with it. I am still waiting for the rest of my Mods from AL at American Sport Bike, so I can get her up and going. Once I am done we can get together next month, and maybe you can check it all out for me to see if everything I done is right.

I think then you will also have to trim it - paper tape the area to be trimed and gently apply Dremell, fine sand and buff with same tool and your done. The paper tape helps prevent tool runoff.

Ed,

What head should i use for the trimming process, and what is paper tape..?? like masking tape...? and how does it help with tool runoff...?

Small grinding stone - the paper tape protects the surface in case the stone skips from the edge to the surface in pressing and shaping. Like painters' masking tape/paper tape - get the wide stuff and trace your trimming line on it and follow the line, fine sand and buff/polish - done.

Yeah - if your good with it - just take your time and more than 1 cut - you can clean the line with the sander for the final shape.

Ok..gang here it is, my completed parts for the Blast Café Racer.

Here are the list:

1_Lockhart Phillips Fairing..just a classic...
2_Corbin Seat, heavy...! But very nice...
2_Jardine Exhaust, This thing is beautiful, OH..MY..GOD...!
3_Set of Café Mirror Bar Ends, very cool.
4_CrossRoad, Handle bars, very café..for sure...
5_CrossRoad fork Brace, for control at high speed...looks pretty cool too.
6_Banke Rear Set, get ready to empty your wallet for this one..but it well made and worst it, if you need it.
7_Buell Traction Handgrips..and small item with big return...
8_Hero Tail Guard...for you Bags.
9_Chicane Bags, Tank and Tail bags..very cool..my Friend Randy made them...
10_CRG 6 way adjustable Clutch and Brake LEVERS...I love these..
11_two set of Eagle Eyes Turn Signals...very cool..also...

Ok..Gang...Hope this will help some of you on your projects...I will also post the completed bike when it is done in a couple of weeks.

So here is the thing..about the Blast...for those of you that thinks other wise. This is a simple bike..is not the fastest, nor a very powerful bike, but for sure it is a very unique bike.

The blast is a simple design, and that is the beauty of it. It is a bike that you can make it you own with just a little money. I got the 2002 Blast for $2,000 with 2800 miles on it, and now I got another $1,750 in parts, all from American Sport Bike except for the LP Fairing, with Al help...thanks Al...!

So after all this...I hope to put together a very unique Bike that is all my own. I am not saying that anyone can do this, because it is not cheap, but look at it this way, I spend a total of $3,750 a Bike that is Uniquely my own, and hope I can get it something like EZ's BlastVader in it uniqueness, and have a great time doing it...

OH...!thanks EZ..for all your help too..I could not got this far without you.

If you do not have the money or skills to tackle a project like this, then go slow, get a couple parts each month and learn what you can do... and help with the gang on Badweb..I know I did...!

But most of all...have fun...Life is so short and before you know it..the sun will be setting...

I have not been back on my bike for two weeks..now..and life is not the same if you cannot connect with your spirit...

Ok..gang be safe...

FasterBlaster..

Holy dude. Nice pile of money you got there! : D

I'm working on my own cafe racer as well. Check my profile for an outdated picture.

I recently adjusted my handlebars to be lower and are now very near clip-on ergos. And, just last night I made a low profile mount for my speedo out of plexi-glass to clean up the lines on the head of the bike.

Are you going to cut up your stock hangers and retain your passenger pegs, or just remove them completely??

Naustin..I like what you have done so far with your Cafe. Looks very nice and clean. and Ya...I did put some savings to get all the parts.

I am not sure what to do with the passenger peg yet, but I am leaning toward the taking them off all together.

But like I said before, I got $3750 into the blast so far, and it will be way cooler then anything out there for 1/2 the price of any new Japanese or British Bike. and you can forget about the Italians...you will need a mortgage to own one of those....

We are American, and we like out bike loud...and manly..!!

Be safe...!
