I notice that along with the ID of the poster a picture appears with some of the posts. How does that happen? Is a profile change or does it have to be linked every time you post?

Remember I'm a gearhead not a webhead, I might need a slightly detailed explanation if this can still be done!

If you go to the recent "tire" posts you'll see under the "author" (post writer ID) section, there is a picture with some of the author ID's.

IE: Under a Jprovo post there is the recent picture of him racing the #763 Blast.

Sure - for a while Blake was allowing your profile pic to also act as post avitar, however, that caused a lot of trouble and was ended, however, it seems they will still update with profile changes - lol

Hey everyone,
AM fining to be in the VA beach area for six months unless Uncle Sugar changes it on me. Does anyone know any good rides in that area?
Also I rode a Ulysses a couple weeks ago. And i dood a boo-bbo. I fell over with it after the demo ride right in front of the dealership. Put about a 1/4x1/2 inch scratch on the mirror and scuffed the handguard. Owner of dealership just messed with me over it. That Thing is a sweet bike but TALL!!

I've been looking at Gear. I'd really like to have a stitch, but I can't afford the $800 sticker. Is there something out there that is half-way decent and 1/4 the cost in a 1 or 2 piece textile suit?

I guess there is no point if it isn't waterproof and warm enough to use in 40 degree weather.

New Enough-great deals. Joe Rocket-reasonably priced.
Really depends on what you are looking for(style, protection, warmth). Chaps & a jacket can be had for less than $300.

NOTHING beats an electric vest for keeping you warm!
Seriously, I've ridden in every kind of weather and I cant believe I waited 25 years to get one!

A cheap one piece rain suit keeps the rain out and is good for emergency warmth if the temperature unexpectedly drops. Get one thats big enough to fit over all your jackets and pants.

I've found what I'm looking for - I think.

Fieldsheer 1pc armored over suit with removable winter liner and Euro-Spec armor.

It is very similar to the Aerostich Roadcrafter, but costs $220 instead of $820.

I've read several very positive reviews on personal blogs, as well as magazines, and other than a few broken zippers, people seem to be very happy with it.

It is supposed to be waterproof and very warm even down to 40 degrees. And, it fits right over your work clothes.

One final positive is that is has the new Euro-Spec compliant "CE" armor which is supposed to be very good.

The biggest negative seems to be that it isn't tailored like the `Stich. You have to make do with small, medium, large, xl, xxl, etc.

Has anybody heard of this suit before??
See Here :
http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Fieldsheer_Highland_1_Piece_Suit--506186.html

PS) Gear - Do you run your heated vest on the Blast? The Widder `Lecric Vest draws 35 watts, or probably only around 3 amps. So, I figured the Blast would be able to run just one vest easy. 2 vests plus heated gloves, sleeves, socks etc. would obviously be too much.

Ok. Wife's Blast needs new tires. Looked in the KV and didn't find as much info as I was hoping for. What's a good replacement that ISN'T a Dunlop? Where do you guys get them from? The bike is all covered up for storage and the service manual is in the garage as well. What size are the front and rear tires?! Thanks for the help.

Yes I run the Aerostitch vest on the Blast. While the impulse to go 'whole hog' (couldnt resist the pun) on electrics, if you've got good gear, you shouldnt need anything else but the vest.

I run the vest all the time below 75 degrees (helps prevent the back pain from the accident) while also running 2 halogen headlights up front and all the turn signals are running lights. You can probably get away with 2 vests (or vest & gloves, etc.)

Thanks for tip on the cheap one piece coveralls with armour. Sounds perfect.

Nick-looking forward to your review.

Saro-how was the Widder vest. The Aerostitchs' connector plug sticks me in the side.
Will we be seeing you at the SLO ride (I hope)?

I made a mistake - Loli runs Gerbing gear. She LOVES the liner (as does a co-worker who I turned onto Gerbing). I personally don't get the Widder stuff. Vest? Arm chaps? Gerbing makes a jacket liner - with arms. Plug the gloves in at the end of the sleeves and you're good to go. For Loli, I dunno if just the vest would be acceptable. She runs WAY, WAY COLD.

Loli never got too used to the gloves though. Some people are much more distracted by such tactile issues than others.

Not sure about what'll be going on in life when SLO Ride 3 is happening - but I'm always hoping to be able to do something fun.

As seen on The-Buell-Blast, posted by "legburners":

"Wet, spray, let it sit, hose, blow it and then finish with towel."

He was talking about washing his bike...I think.

I also need to know how to get it flat against the tank. I'm not givin' up 'cause I like the way it looks. Please help if anyone's suceeded.

`The Proto-type Blast Force pictured on that Blast was never massed produced because of weight issues - would tear the boot. the M2 unit will stick out unless you make a slightly angled custom boot using Hydrolic hose, heavy duty hose clamps, and springs and a brace on the carb may pull it off to the right angle. Yes you have to dremel out the vacuum inlet a bit to help prevent a false lean condition - lol -

Well, it was 34 degrees tonight after work, and I decided it was high time I gave my new gear a test ride.

The fieldsheer suit worked great! I did wear a couple of layers under it, but it kept me toasty warm and I was riding 65-70. I put 40 miles on!

I was only cold on my neck (shoulda worn a scarf).

Also, the "respro foggy" mask worked great! No fog on my sheild at all! Even down at stop signs. I did get a tiny little bit of fog on my glasses, but hardly any at all. The foggy is definatly worth the $15.
