If you get here for the first weekend of April you could join in on the SLO ride - now that would be kick as* and you'd have a ball! - lol - otherwise thats a long trip to hit the Bay area - 410 plus miles by the most direct route - read boring freeway - at around 7 to 10 hrs depending on traffic - not really the most fun you could have riding in Cali, however, Pashnt.com may have a good alternative route - if you ask them on the forum - thats how I got my revised SLO route from SF - lol - GT - JBOTDS! Jugallo, Cali is HUGE state, it's a 180+ mile trip to Ferris' place from Cypress. In the winter time, it's likely to have some good snow right aroug Ferris's place too. It's almost 1/2 way to SF, maybe EZ can meet us up there. James | ||

California? How about coming to east Tennessee? Otherwise northen Cali is BEAUTIFUL!!! Unfortunately the only times I've been there was driving an 18-wheeler on a pretty tight schedule. And Jugallo if you hunt I can put you on some good places down here in TN. Not as big as MI deer but can kill more I think. John | ||

Jugallo, It really doesn't snow much if at all in Wofford Heigts. A few miles north (and much higher in elevation) in Sequoia National park however, it snows pretty good. http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=793340&refer= We have a ton of micro-climates in California because of the huge elevation changes. In northern CA, we have a ton of microclimates WITHOUT much elevation change! Sorry, just had to add to the norcal-socal rivalry there. Real reason I posted was to say that I've found a "Battle Blue" oil filter, for anyone who has the blue Blast and wants to match. It's the AC Delco PF 1233. Ed can vouch for it's battle-blue-ness. | ||

Need Yellow Bodywork! Looking for yellow tank & tail pieces that are already scratched up (crash take offs) for the race bike. (I really don't want to use my good yellow bodywork and drill holes and such in it and black bodywork is really hard to paint yellow!) | ||

hey jprovo, when you fabbed up those rear sets, did you go by the instructions that EZ threw up a while ago, or just measure out and start cutting? they look goood, and my shoes are begging for some higher footpegs, but I refuse to pay $400 for rear sets and such. | ||

Good news, My fire-breathing, cam-eating Blast is quite nearly on the road again. My piston and ring kit with a .005 OS came in today from Buell. Just have to drop off the cylinder sometime this week to get it honed, and then reassemble this monster. I'm so excited I think I'll freeze vital parts off next week just to get reacquainted with the 'ol girl. | ||

BMHD, I read through EZ's instructions, but I pretty much did my own thing. The measurements that EZ has are not too far off from where I ended up with. I set the plates the same distance fom the wheel by using the swingarm as a measuring plane. I set the footpegs the same distance from the ground, and the same distance from the rear axle. If you want me to get you some measurements, I'll post them. James | ||

for sure, maybe we can start a little 'home made rear sets' thread in the knowledge vault or something. That would make a decent winter project, as I could just work on it as I went, rather than trying to scrabble it together over summer to avoid missing riding. someday I'll post a pic of my shoes.....it's funny. if you did post up the measurements though, and any other advice you could give that would be great. -dan | ||

LOL - my measurements where taken with calipers using the two rearsets I have on my bikes - lol - the most interesting thing is that the spacers on both are the same length. GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

My spacers would have probably been the same length if I was using the same material thickness, and not re-using the stock sprocket cover... I'll see about getting some Dimensions tonight. James | ||

J8124.T Fork stopper ring (circlip) J8134.T Spring joint (washer) K9117.T Rear shock stopper ring (circlip) K9118.T Rear shock spring seat Mostly parts to facilitate suspension reworking. The circlips are the must have parts. While they probably wont break, they can and you're s.o.l. to get another on short notice.I'm not sure why the front fork stop rings would be obsolete unless they were replaced by something else. They're very easy to break or lose. Thanks for any help. |
