Yes - used both sets plus observations from other custom units - hit the TKV - handlebars, rearsets section and check the rearsets section, but heres a short cut

Hope that helps all the Blastards out there not wanting to pay 500 for a set of rearsets - cant blame ya - this should save ya around 400 bucks - lol

Wrecked the Blast today. I was winding my way down a hill, maybe at 30 mph (no were near REALLY pushing it) and I came around a blind turn to find a corner that was completely covered in gravel (this is that gravel that is really small and very round, just like marbles). I thought to myself "oh " and got on the brakes as hard as I could. The front tire locked up on the gravel, nearly making me crash, but I managed to save it and keep braking for another 30 feet. I realized that I still wasn't going to make the turn and decided that I should lay it down (luckily I was only going about 15 at this point). I came to a rest on the shoulder, uninjured, and found out that the bike and I were a mere 3 feet from a 30ft drop off (that got me going a bit, good thing I layed it down rather than try to ride it out). The Blast had some pretty major scratches on the right side, but nothing was bent (except of the handlebars, they were trashed, and a blinker). I was able to continue home and finally got around to replacing my handlebars with a pair of City-X bars I had laying around. Now i just have to figure out what I am going to do with the scratches.

Damn! Thats harsh! - I was doing 9 to Santa Cruz and found some railroad tracks in the middle of a turn - but that only had me cussing the rest of the way in to the city - just got back from a sweet run to Gilroy and back home to SF via some of the coolest roads in Cali - totally tight! How do you feel - are you ok now that the addrenalin rush has gone? Its something we strive to avoid but drops are a part of the 'game' - you can sand/buff out minor to light medium - your stuck after that - I got a few digs in my tank that will never go away (without getting a new cover - I'll get around to it some day - lol) - from dropping my bike while parking on gravel. Don't worry - like a trusty hoss the bike will be waiting for ya - even if you had to totally rebuild it, in the end its survival and your health that count - you did well - if you can get up and walk away type of thing holds true there as well - A scratch! - Hey Honey I can't leave the bike like that! I'm just going to have to modify her to give back some style! - Eh? - lol - Rubber side down Bro!;0)

I think i am just going to bondo the scratches and paint the whole bike flat black. It will give it a cool look, and be super easy to maintain/fix. What upset me the most is that i am going to a bike rally tomorrow, and i have no time to fix the damage. My friends are going to make fun of me now. Pics tomorrow.

I had to practically coerce DP into doing the right thing and replace the ignition, but they did in the end do just that under warrentee.
No hicups since then on the red.

Maybe its just me, perhaps I'm way out of line, but I show up at these various bike meetings and there is usually a topic - hill climbing, racing, whatever - but I'm there about the ride! I want to here about what roads you went down, what they are like, what you saw on them, and their conditions. I want to hear about technique, tips and pointers for enjoying the ride even more. The spectator side of things - racing, shows, and these meetings mean very little to me. I started riding because it offered a type of peace that is unique, and is fun to participate in! I say - get off your collective arses talking about riding and go ride! So who's with me on exploring and enjoying some of the best roads that California has to offer on this next San Louis Obispo ride this 2,3,4 of April? I garrentee a great ride, great scenery, and great fun! Surely there are other folks who feel this way here and enjoy riding - what better way to express it than to ride! So come on Blastards - join me and the gang for a great ride - meeting at the Beanery at 9th and Irving at 8am on the 2nd of April to enjoy a fantastic adventure! Talk takes you nowhere, its your bike that will get you there! The gauntlet has been thrown! Who will answer this call for adventure?! And who will just stay home and wish they did - the decision is your!

S.L.O. is also the same distance from Las Vegas as it will be for the NorCal & SoCal Blasters, a little further for those in the Pheonix area!

PS This is an invitation to ALL Blasters, not just those who post here and also regardless of experience (or obsession).

EZ--You KNOW I'm there. I'm hoping we can get more, too. I have a note in my wallet all the time, but haven't seen any Blasts since I've been carrying it. You know how it goes, the one day I'll forget to carry it, I'll see a Blast on every corner. lol...

BMHD--Pretty much. If they already have connectors on them, go for it. Otherwise, just strip and splice into the existing wires, which really isn't that much harder, just make sure you have shrink tubes and everything.

I'm now running an XB head, cams & piston (10.5:1), Screamin Eagle ignition, Pro Series air cleaner & exhaust.
I know there are people here running close to that set up, so before I go get it dyno'd I'd like to get it as close as possible.

What are you running for jets, timing & SE ignition settings?

eight on the ignition, advanced 2 deg.from stock, jetting 175/45 - should bring you pretty close - shim according to any dyno dip range. Bet thats where you already have it - huh - 2 3/4 turns out on the airscrew is best on both the Bub and WB - so perhaps for you as well.

Thanks EZ
Yeah, thats pretty much it. Advanced 4 deg from stock & curve set at 5, same jets. I'll tweak it as I ride it more, but hopefully a dyno tune soon.
I think the Pro Series exhaust is choking the top end (as expected).I need to find a cheap 1 3/4" head pipe so I can try some different mufflers on it.
Being able to twist it out in 1st gear to 40 mph is really a great improvement over stock.
I did think the higher compression would need a leaner main jet, which may be true with the PS exhaust, but maybe not when I get less restrictive exhaust on it.Hmmm... maybe i'll just try a Jardine or what else is there we havent tried yet (besides the Wileyco).

the 5 setting is pretty much the same as stock and the ones before that are really for the sportster - so take that puppy to 8 - 9 is ran by some but I'm a conservative - lol - besides at 9 it got just a tad edgy in some transitions, 8 has been no problem though and rpm set at 7500 is a really a nice climb!

If you are on the Dyno and have the S/E module the "Crane" software and cable work to allow custom curves. my 500 made 33hp by 25 torque with a V&H pipe and the CV carb. As a 600 cc it made 53hp by 35 torque with a Bonneville pipe and 42Mikiuni. I always jet first and then work in the curves looking for good strong pulls all the way to the top with the best torque. I have attached a pic of my new 3.8 inch stroker crank using a 3 5/8 bore will have a 644 cc Bonneville motor.3.800 Stroker Crank

HELP!
Does anybody have, or know of, the availability of a complete wiring diagram of the Blast. The manual only gives it in sections and omits large parts of it (if its in there, I cant find it).

Why I ask?
Got the tach in and the signals stopped working! Rechecked the wiring and diagram to see if I tapped in wrong and came up with nothing. Everything seemed to be working until I did the final assembly. The turn signal indicator doesnt come on and there seems to be no turn signal power up to the speedo. Of course it could all be a coincedence or a bad flasher unit but since I have no schematic I have no way of tracing all the wiring and knowing what it passes through.I cant even bypass the system to test it. (I could still, but a schematic would take hours off the diagnostic time and eliminate possible shorting).
Or perhaps someone has had a similar problem and can give an easy answer?

LOL - just went through this on the red bike - your fuse and flasher are probably shot - especially if the flasher makes no noise - it should at least make a buzz - if bulb blown or bad wiring.

It was a coincidence of 2 bad flashers! The one I was using in the bike went bad and the stock one (that wasnt bad when taken out) was also bad. Threw a 3rd flasher in and everything works again!

I would still like to find a complete wiring diagram though.

Thanks EZ!
