Aubrey,(A_S_R), there will be some of us Utah Buellers there for sure. We'll have a little group at RV spot #177 on Monday and some will be there all weekend. Thats in the Duckhead area on the south side of the track. Stop by if you can and say hello. The 1190RR will run at approx. 10AM Monday in the GTO race. Should be great fun. Bob T. Check out our Utah Buellers here:

We need to all do everything we can to support Geoff at Miller Motorsports . . that a track he's won on and knows well.

Very exciting stuff . . . I'm hoping for another great race and a Top 10 finish!

If you get chance . . drop a note on his Facebook page and let him know his Buell friends are supporting him.

I don't believe it will be part of the AMA/FIM coverage on Speed shown today.

However... This is sponsored by Lucas Oil and Speed shows Lucas Oil events. Maybe.. Just maybe this one will be shown as Lucas Oil Motorcycle racing, or some such thing.

I am just guessing here.

RRW shows Geoff taking 3rd!!!!

Hahaha..... He's still a wreck ..... Wound up like a clock .... What an accomplishment! This is huge and marks a milestone for the new Buell.

I could not be prouder of Erik and the team .... These guys .... Against some of the top multi-million dollar factory works teams .... Have put themselves in the map.

Court,
What are you talking about???
Erik and company did not get 3rd in World Superbike.
It is a great showing non the less, allowing more bike development and rider time. It can certainly help with the rest of the season.
I think it was more of an accomplishment to get 10th in AMA Superbike in New Jersey last year against the best of the best than to get 3rd in a Lucas Oil Superbike Challenge GTO race.

I think it's still a pretty big deal. Keep in mind they had to use the 1125 after they lost a head gasket on the 1190. Impressive weekend.

Hahaha...... What, you thought they got 3rd in WSB? You gotta pay attention man.

The was a mere support race.

It was a HUGE accomplishment for Buell, a company fully funded by a single person and with 10 employees, to beat some factory teams with tens of millions of dollars and full factory support.

Of course .... After 24 years I could be completely clueless and have no clue as to what I'm talking about.

Um good with letting time be the judge of that.

What a awesome job for a first GTO race on the 1190 in the USA to get a 3rd. According to FB post they went conservative on the setup. More practice and seat time on that bike then it will be #1 in its division IMO.

second note:
The guys over seas did win again also. so its a good step forward... great Job Erik Buell Racing RACING!!!

Sorry to say this ,but this was a dissapointment for Buell racing ,the 1190 motor broke ,and Geoff finished 3rd behind 2 fellow AMA racers with a 1125RR motor .The only other 2 competetive bike on the grid crashed out . To bad the 1190 motor broke ,I read it was 12mph faster then the 1125RR down the long front straight at Miller . Next time hopefully they have a spare 1190 motor ,the next time they have a chance to race the 1190RR in the USA .

Court, I knew it wasn't a World Superbike race, did you?
You were spinning this result with Crazy comments like
"This is THE BIGGEST Buell news in 10 years, it's huge" and "I could not be prouder of Erik and the team .... These guys .... Against some of the top multi-million dollar factory works teams .... Have put themselves in the map".
I stated my opinion as:
"I think it was more of an accomplishment to get 10th in AMA Superbike in New Jersey last year against the best of the best than to get 3rd in a Lucas Oil Superbike Challenge GTO race".

This is cool for Buell; certainly not were Erik wants to be; he dreams BIG, but a very good result and a very nice event to do it at. All the big time factory guys are here and I know they were paying attention to the fact the Erik Buell, despite being sucker punched by H-D is up and fighting. It also shows just how good the 1125/1190 package is.

Again it is not were we want to be but it certainly shows that Buell is not dead. It is a damn shame that we don't get to see this bike compete at the highest levels; it sure seems to be capable and with a real budget who knows how far it would have gone.

I can't wait to see what Erik has up his sleeve for the future.

Disappointment?!?!

Sure it would have been cool if the 1190 engine had been in place and completely blown everyone away, but the accomplishment was still a HUGE and a major milestone for Erik Buell Racing (and all the more impressive because they did it without the 1190 powerplant).

This was a podium in a unique race that allowed unlimited modifications and had some very talented riders chasing some impressive purse money.

This was Erik Buell Racing's first podium (in what is likely to be a long string).

This is the first time, since the term Superbike has been coined that a motorcycle made in the western hemisphere (with the arguable exception of the VR 1000) was on a podium in a major race in the western hemisphere agianst other Superbike competition without horsepower restrictions.

And it was done by a TINY company with VERY limited resources and no major sponsorship and a team that had only raced one previous race.

I can't speak for all Buell fans, but I sure as hell am not disappointed.

Do you really think that Erik Buell Racing is at a point they can be "disappointed" by a champagne shower? The time and effort and MONEY required to develop a bike that can race against the best bikes in the world is beyond what most of us can imagine. I highly doubt that there are people at BMW or Aprilia or Ducati looking at what Erik Buell Racing just did and considering it to be a disappointing effort.
