Watching Rossi's attempts to line up Stoner for a pass on the exit of turn one and into turn two was really good. The experience of watching it from trackside is fantastic. I envy the europeans their chance to see it so often.
Some people I meet regularly at the track campground ride an 8000km round trip for the experience. It makes my own 3000km round trip seem quite paltry.

I have a great pic of Stoner sliding both, rear on smoke, cranked over giving it what its worth. I'm not much of a Stoner fan either but the guy's got stones and can ride.

Trojan are the 250's still legal to run in Moto 2 next year? When they first proposed the class they were. If they were would they be competitive?

yes, 2 strokes are allows in Moto 2. Since here isn't one 250 entry, I think that speaks to the competitive question.

Yea, another 600cc racing class. Whoopee. I think it's a horrible move from a purely racing standpoint.

Actually, it should allow for some spectacular racing, because the engines aren't "important" anymore... everyone has the SAME engine. What will count are the rider's skills and the chassis engineering.

I just wish Buell were still around. I'd LOVE to see what a Buell-designed chassis could do in the Moto2 class!

I understand the move. The 2 stroke is dead. It is time to move on. I think that the engines should be a non big motorcycle company engine though. Maybe a rotax or something.

Did you see the hay bale the doctor brings out when working on a rider?
Kind of cool.

The original hope by the FIM was to use Kawasaki engines as they are the only one of the 'big 4' not involved in MotoGP. Unfortunately Kawasaki decided not to bid for the contract, as did everyone else except Honda, so it was a formality in the end.

I am really looking forward to Moto2 next year, but had hoped to see more technical diversity in the chassis that are being built. At the moment they all (with the exception of AJR) seem to be following the same well trodden path with twin spar alloy frames and 'traditional' Ohlins front ends. I would like to see some hub centre steering and other suspension systems such as Hossack/Telelever developed in Moto2, but racing is a very conservative business and people tend to stick with what they know.

Racing is a consevative business. The first year of Moto2 will be pretty cookie cutter until things get settled in I think. In prob 3 or so years we might start to see some breakout designs. But it will be a slow process.

Even BMW, with all of the suspension innovation they introduced on their street bikes, essentially built a German GSXR1000 to go Superbike racing. I was very disappointed with that decision, but I suppose I see the "Business Sense."

I was daydreaming about Buell building a Moto 2 bike, using their existing designs it would be the most innovative bike entered in the series!

Would be fun to see Vyrus or Bimota field a Moto2 bike using their chassis technology. Or even Yamaha resurrect Parker's RADD front end in a Moto2 racer.

Roosi got the title, so as expected, everyone is happy.

It seems that his theatrics with Yamaha paid off.

Lorenzo made a big mistake to stay at Yamaha.

Rossi won because he earned it. He had great challanges from many great riders and came out on top. Why do the haters always come out against the champ. Same crap happend with Danny in Daytona Sportbike. The reason champions are champions is because they rode harder and more consistent over a whole season.

Well Valencia is this weekend, I wonder if Spies can do his best Troy Bayliss imitation and shock the world. It is a long shot for sure, but so was Bayliss. I am just hoping for a good race to tide me over until it all starts again in the spring. Go BEN!!

I'm keeping my hopes realistic... A finish in the top eight would be spectacular! That would still mean beating HALF of the MotoGP regulars.

Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner and Pedrosa are in a league of their own, so I'm not expecting any miracles.

Am so excited for Spies, got to watch him race at Miller this summer. I think he will do well, last year he finished in sixth at Indy on the Suzuki. Wonder how Toseland and Colin Edwards will react if Spies beats them.

I am assuming you already know that he is signed with Yamaha for 2010 WSBK? He tested already in Portimao.....

Without anyone crashing, of course.

Top 6? that would be cool.....I would love to see him up there farther, but that is a big ask for only a few shots at the bike...but the guy seems to learn quickly...i guess anything is possible considering he was a rookie in a series completely different from the one he raced in, seeing tracks he had never raced on and getting a record number of pole positions....he is motivated and wants to prove to everyone he belongs there....I would say yes it is very possible if conditions are right. I hope it is a dry race!!

Spies is good, but as much as I admire his ability it would take nothing less than a miracle for him to podium on a bike he's never ridden before on a track he's never seen before.

Still, he's pulled off the "impossible" before. He outperformed the Suzuki factory regulars when he rode as a wildcard last year. Be interesting to see what he can do on a competitive motorcycle!

Toseland already went faster than Spies best, first time at this track. Not that it matters much as 7 others went faster too. So had Spies been there it's likely he'd have gone faster than he did previously.

In Toseland's favour though, he's coming back to a WSB which as he says this week in MCN is easier to find its limit where as a Moto GP bike is not. And as the Moto GP bike has a harder ride compared to a WSB, it's tougher going WSB to Moto GP than Moto GP to WSB by some margin.

MCN published some good stats a couple of weeks ago regarding WSB to Moto GP riders. In the last 100 races there's only been two WSB winners in Moto GP. Vermeulen once in the wet, and Bayliss as a wild card on the Ducati. Spies is definitely up against it. Where everyone else doesn't rise to the very top coming from WSB, can Spies be the first? I doubt it. There's at least 4 fast boys preventing that happening.
