My wife and I rode out to Colorado and met up with a whole bunch of Buell riders including BuellHusker who rode out from Columbus, NE. We spent a couple of days out there including a ride with 17 other Buells. Maniacs for sure in the mountains but no one was hurt which was a wonder with the hundreds if not thousands of bicycles sharing the mountain roads with us. This morning my wife and I rode our bikes from Loveland, CO up to Cheyenne, Wyoming and then headed eastward on old US 30 which runs along and near I80. We kept at it all day long and got home very hot and tired. It was a good 600 miler today in upwards of 100 degree heat. My 06 Uly performed without drama and so did my wife's Sportster. The Uly is now just a few hundred miles shy of 50,000 miles and probably needs new lifters which I will attempt myself after studying the situation and asking questions about it here on BadWeb. By the way, a Buell mechanic says the pulsing of ULY front brakes is just dust buildup in the rotor mountings bolts and can be cured by just wacking the rotor with a plastic mallet near each of the mounting bolts. Knocks out the dust. He says that is all it takes. We shall see. |

Damn EG, wish I'd realized that was you with the noisy lifters. Was a good time for us too. Saturday I left when the movie started and went home, to bed. pooooped. We had a small turnout Sunday for the dyno shoot-out and I was home by 1:30. Overall a fun weekend. Z |

My wife took good pics with her phone and I will attempt to post in the next day or so. We are from Ralston, NE at about 1145 ft elevation. Loveland CO is at 4982 ft and it really affected my sleep. Sleep-wake-sleep-wake all night long. Makes for very long nights. Last night, here at home in my own bed I slept like a dead man. 600 miles in that heat took it's toll on my butt and fatigue. So freaking hot out and especially on the road. My wife road her Sportster and got a kick out of watching me standing up on the pegs all the time for relief. I'd have died without the sheep's pelt on the seat, even though it was made fun of at the rally. I really could care less though since the guy making fun had Colorado plates. Like to see him ride as far as we did on his Lightning. Noisy lifters and all, the ULY hauled ass without a hitch. My brother told me I had noisy lifters out at Sturgis last year and we went from there to Boise, Idaho without problems and then on back to Omaha, NE. I will definitely fix it soon. Bike runs good other than the noise of the lifters. Thank God for good ear plugs. |

Zac4mac, Did I talk to you. I hoped your profile show'd a photo but only of your bike. There was a guy there with a built up blue uly but that wasn't you. I talked to a guy that worked at the shop but his ULY had knobbies and he didn't go on the ride. Was that you? |

Yup that was me, the old hippie with the ponytail. I was also the one that told you about a mallet on the front rotor. I had a real good time, wish I could have gone on the ride, but as it as I went to bed as soon as I got home. Glad yall got home safe. Come see us anytime you're out this way. Z |

I want to thank the entire crew at NRHS for their hospitallty Dan, Cil, Zac and Ross I had a great time and even learned a little so you can teach an old dog new tricks I guess. I rode out to Gunnison Colorado on Monday cold and rainy all the way out and even during the week I rode in rain, some hail and even some snow, but for the final trip home to Columbus, NE it was hot & humid so if you average the trip it was great. Got to meet up with some friends from the South West Buell Rally's Dave & Bob and even a old high school buddy now living in Montrose. What a great week riding the roads of Colorado and meeting new Buell riders. |

I, too (like Sagehawk) had planned on riding down to meet up with you guys; my son with his S3T lives in Longmont, but he has a busted front header mount that he hasn't had time to fix, and a new kid on the way... I would've felt bad coming down and riding with you all, while my son worked all weekend. Pics would be nice, so at least I can live vicariously through you. |

Hey Zac4mac, you're the guy at NHRS with the RS, right? Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I brought my orange cyclone and had a blast on the ride, albeit pushing the bike and myself as hard as I could with some of the other folks. NHRS is an awesome place and to see the RX and RS in person, was just jaw dropping. Didn't have any want or interest in one until I saw it up close. Was good to meet you too Electraglide. Awesome milestone to see you coming up on 50k on the Ulysses. Way to put that retirement time to use. |

I was just out in your neck of the woods over July 4th visiting friends in Arvada. We drove to Golden Canyon to hike one day, and I was drooling at the curves for my Buells or bicycles. |

@ General - Yup, I got one after drooling all over Dan's. Mine has almost 800 miles, now waiting for programmable ECM and an exhaust from Kevin Drum. Z |
