I believe we are shaped by our environment and our society suffers when we surround ourselves with trash. Why do you suppose so many servicemen come back from war and have a heck of a time getting back to normal. Don't kid yourself that bombarding yourself with the garbage t.v. offers doesn't affect how you think because it does. People get darned p.o'd and complain if the violence they watch isn't realistic and graphic enough.

In my own personal experience, there is little more powerful influence on our minds than "entertainment" media. How else have the miserable deceits and seductions of materialism and moral relativism gained such prominence in America?

We probably ought to be very careful in what we choose to immerse our minds.

Two Australian flicks are still my favorite bike movies. Stone... cheesey story but the bikes, noises and riding is real. The original Mad Max... some fabulous camera work, at speed and from the back of a bike... brave brave camera guy. Those were the bikes of my youthful desires... Those KZ100's were the hyabusa of their day. When I finally got one (1982?), I realised that the brakes and suspension couldn't keep pace with the engine... thought the RD400 was way more 'sane' to ride.
On Any Sunday and The World's Fastest Indian are right up there too...

Groovy stuff! Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread.

And as far as "Wild Hogs", prolly didn't enjoy it as much as the Ewan and Charlie flicks, but it did not require a ten hour committment to watch either Fluff, but it was entertaining fluff nonetheless.

I tend to agree with you electraglider
I am gross and perverted
Im obsessed n deranged
I have existed for years
But very little had changed
I am the tool of the government
And industry too
For I am destined to rule
And regulate you

I may be vile and pernicious
But you can't look away
I make you think Im delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin out
From your tv set

You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don't need you
Don't got for help...no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

That's right, folks..
Don't touch that dial
Frank Zappa

I NetFlixed On Any Sunday last week - it was entertaining, in a vintage kind of way, but just shocking at how far protective gear and safety equipment has come. And you gotta' love that groovy soundtrack.

I love the ole 60's dirty biker flix. They always beat up everyone, steal everything, then party with the ever present bongo player in the background.

I haven't seen CC rider mentioned yet, with Joe Nathan. Classic. Wild Hogs wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Actually sort of funny. Best cycle adventure yet I vote for The Motorcycle Diaries. I want to say though, I streamed Cycles South due to advice on this site. Holy Scramblers batman, that had the funniest dialog I've ever heard recently in a mocumentary! I was rolling on the floor choking on my food with some of the things they were talking about. Cool movie for it's time I bet though.

Marlon Brando, "The Wild One" was off limits to me as a kid...like Elvis the Pelvis was. I finally saw ol Marlon recently. In 1953 the opening dialogue presented this rebel gang as a small town's most scary nightmare. What just stunned me in how dark America has gotten from this portrayal of 1953 evil. These guys are Boy Scouts with a chip on their shoulders. Like the slowly heated frog...we are getting cooked in our culture of moral relativism.

The Joe Namath biker movie (CC and Company) just showed up within the last few weeks on Netflix, IIRC.
