My first street bike was a 1974 honda CB 750. I did not get to ride the bikes that came before it, but it sure was a pig compared to the bikes that came after it. I test rode one of those silver Beemers with the freight train lights. What a turd to ride. I don't recall ever riding a road bike that felt like it wanted to fall over going slow, more so than that thing. No part of riding it felt good. |

Brucespoint, you can ride it as soon as I put it back together. It's been on the shelf for 25 years, starting to look like a retirement project!! |

I graduated high school in 1974 and had a 1974 CB750. Traded it for a 77 CB750F down at Jacksonville, NC whilst in the Marines. |

Bought my 1st Road Bike just back from South. a 70 CB750, single cable, built by a 300+lb Chief Machinist Mate for Drag racing. Pulled low 11's with Him Planting it. Just picked up the front a bit & Smoked the rear with My skinny 150lb ass... Cafe'd it out, clip ons, rear sets... But It'd do the Snake Dance every time you rolled on coming out of corners... Put that tank they used for the Brit Thumper Honda Built, Magnuson Oil tank polished, alloy fenders... Had a Yoshi Ported 811 with the Daytona cam, Bub's exhaust... Looked Great, Way Faster than Anything I'd set My young butt on... But Tried Really hard to Kill me once or thrice. Wish I could find a pic... 3 moves = a fire... b. |
