Just did a quick visit to the FZ10A board, I used to hang around there when I had my 01 Fizzy. Just for shites a giggles went to the Gen 2 problems area, holy cow, these guys are having alot of very different and major problems. We do see problems popping up on our forum, but generally they refer to a group of recurring issues, of which we pretty much know the fix.
I had a moment of doubt after trying a 990 but it passed, it would have cost me my Uly plus ten grand to get back to where I am now with the Buell. Never the less I was surprised to see so many and so varied issues with a "reliable" inline Jap 4...

It's a myth that Buells are any less reliable than any other motorcycle. Some people have serious problems with their Buells and pipe up here for help. But the vast majority of Buell Owners like myself have zero issues with the bike and ride daily with no concerns of a breakdown. The same goes for any brand of car, truck, or motorcycle.

The one thing that stands out to me is the REAL support from Buell customer service, and the overall wealth of knowledge from BadWeb is like none other I have seen or experienced.

If I would have taken the small sample of problems that you find on an enthusiast web site such as this as a representation of the actual percentage of problems present in the entire population of a production run, I'd still be with out a motorcycle. Instead I took it for what it was worth and bought my '99 M2, and still have it 10 years later along with an '08 XB12X. Neither one has left me stranded or without a ride for a weekend in over 30,000 combined miles.

You always have to remember that on sites like this, you will read about a LOT of problems, because this is where people come to try to get to the bottom of them. You generally don't read about the people not having problems....we're too busy riding.

That's why I miss the stories from a decade ago from one Ferris Bueller and why I posted my trip here....Probably a good reason for not having a separate "Tails Section". Rarely any good stories here or in the Quick Board - just rants, problems, and politics, yet this is where we mostly congregate....
