Anyone see the Polly heated grip install on motorcycle.com? Their example bike looks like a Firebolt. Polly's seem like a good inexpensive option. |

Installed the factory heated grip kit this afternoon. Thanks Bearly for your photo instructions - made the job much easier. Didn't have any issues, only used one titanium bit.
Installed cleated billet Footpegs - rider & passenger, and a fiberglass right hand air scoop from americansportbike.com. The scoop was less than I had expected. It is not a match for the left side. Carbon fiber could have been a better choice - would have had to buy both side though - cost was a factor. Installation was quick.

No clue Court, I did a whois check, it didn't tell me much. The only "Buell Parts" they have is the stuff on Buell.com |

I've ordered my factory heated grips twice now and someone at the factory keeps putting the incorrect throttle side switch gear in the shipment box. Everything else is correct but there's no way to turn the grips on and off. Had to vent.

I realize I'm resurrecting an old thread, but Bearly was so cool to provide a step-by-step, photo-enhanced guide to installing Buell heated handgrips that I felt the need to post my results.
I installed mine this afternoon with no problem. I could have installed them without the Buell instructions, frankly. They split the installation up among Lightnings, 1125rs, and Ulys, so it can be intimidating to see all those pages. And the images included aren't terribly useful.
The best part about my installation, as I followed Bearly's online guide, was that the drill guide provided in the kit didn't fit - it wouldn't go beyond where the left grip normally sits, so I couldn't get it up to the place to drill. That's when I noticed the two holes in my handlebar that were supposed to be drilled by me (according to the directions). Why were the holes already drilled? Then I remembered: even though my Uly is an '06, the handlebars were brand-new - it had been replaced earlier this year after I hit Bambi's dad (along with many of the other structural pieces). The new bars come pre-drilled. So, I didn't have the joy that many of you had trying not to break drill bits, and I didn't have to glue. Sweet.
I did have to cut and replace the zip-ties on my Stebel horn to fit the new wiring, but all-in-all, it was a very easy installation. Even though it's in the upper 70s right now, I was glad to feel the grips heat right up. This is definitely a Summer project so you're ready for Fall, and the new grips are a little thicker than the stock 06's which is much more comfortable for riders with big hands.
Almost three years after first experiencing the joy of heated handgrips (on a BMW R850R in Scotland in October in rain and wind), I'm psyched to have them on my main ride.
