I agree with Jim. I still say it's gay though. |

Have you checked out the coloring book event where you could win one? It's on the Buell web site. I'm going to enter 'cause it needs all of the help it can get! Oh yeah, it would be fun to win one too! |

C'mon EtennUly! I've seen you ride. You know you can't stay within the lines.

Apparently, it isn't hard at all. Buy a V-strom if that's what you want. |

Lowflyer, if I bought a V-strom them I would get a chain drive, less low RPM torque, and valves that need adjusting. Tell me again why a V-strom would be better than a XB based sport tourer. |

Naustin, You know, that really doesn't look bad. Speaking of which- right after he got his new 06 Uly, Al Lighton mentioned he was going to work on coming up with better wind protection. I wonder if he ever got anywhere with that? |

I think you guys are starting to see what I have been looking for. I'll say it again....a large windshield/faring, higher and wider than you've shown. It would be imperative that it be easily and quickly removed for normal riding. I'd like mine to fit right over the stock windshield in a way that the whole thing clips off with maybe just a small set of brackets left on the bike. I like the lowers the way you depicted them. There are a lot of people out there in Buell land that wanted a super-motard bike, if it can become competitive in professional racing that is a great thing for BMC. We in the land of Uly seem to all be looking for a fix more towards touring. Those of us not looking for a super-tard don't need to complain so much about the one newly provided by BMC....not everything is about us. |

Etennuly - about the only thing that keeps me from using my S3T for all my long distance rides is the fact that my Concours offers better weather protection (and maybe that it doesn't spew oil out of the rockerbox cover but that is another story). However the Buell motor is the best for long distance droning, and we sport touring fans would like a bike that takes advantage of this. I like where Naustin is going with that. |

"Tell me again why a V-strom would be better than a XB based sport tourer." It wouldn't. Naustin's pics make the Uly look like a V-strom. Full fairing on a Uly? No thanks. Bastardo del gordo, Thanks for your concern, but my ass is fully intact. |

Lowflyer - I intended those lower fairing to be similar to the ones on an S3T , and removable for those that want to preserve the more naked look. I won't debate style... I'm not a great artist and that was done in a few minutes with MS Paint... The point was to show the size. Though, I kind like the look that turned out. |

Mostly I was yanking your chain about the strom. The only part I was serious about was my not wanting a fairing. |

Lowflyer - that is cool that you don't want a fairing. Then you have your pick of many Buells. For those of us who want fairings are left scratching our @$$3$ |

So where is Craig Vetter when you need him most. Seems to me that one would want to base the sport touring model on the XB12SS as it is lower and less prone to cross winds. Personally, I like the concept of the new TT. From my perspective, I have always been challenging HD and Buell to come up with a street tracker and a supermoto based on the XB1200 engine. Now, both of them have put me into a bind concerning which bike to buy. Assuming both will have relatively similar performance levels, I am still going for the XR1200 compliments of more relaxed seat to handlebar ergo's and the fact that I like to see more engine. However, Buell's frame simply won't allow that. Still, with the Uly ergo's on the TT, I just might have a problem with a buying decision come spring. IMHO, I think the bottom line is both HD and Buell did an excellent job with these new bikes and the wait has been worth it. In closing, I really hope you guys get your Buell Sport Tourer real soon as it doesn't seem that difficult to do. In the interim, just think that a ULY with a huge fairing would be something akin to a very large kite. Just ask Craig Vetter or someone that owned a WindJammer. LOL |

For those of us who want fairings are left scratching our @$$3$ If there were enough ass-scratchers out there with money to spend, they would build you a fairing. Until then, just keep your fingernails long and switch hands occasionally.

Why do I get the feeling that this thread has reduced itself to an all time low. Scratch and sniff was cute in the 1970's Hustler Magazines, but this really stinks. |
