Let's see: XB = XB series 12 = 1203 engine S = Lightning series TT + Peoria = Buell's way of doing a XR! |

Well it did take care of one of the few dislikes I had with the CityX (the engine power). |

It's a CityX for big people. I couldn't fit on a CityX. I could fit on the XB12STT. It isn't all bad guys. We are just so frickin' ravenous for the next evolutionary leap that anything less than a third eye or six legs just doesn't blow up our skirts. |

Now if it comes with the larger tank frame and will take hard bags plus optional windscreen. All we are lacking is the right seat! Hey Erik, I hope you made it a nice pearl white over a metallic base coat with candy red name plates!

Nice, a white tank for the Uly! Black and white Police poser bike. LOL |

Let's see, CityX with 1203 engine, Uly front fender, number plates, and tubular rear subframe. I think that sums it up, unless Jerry Branch flowed the heads. |

I can see it filling a slot for a slightly lower Uly or a taller CityX. Now if you are vertically challenged you have a middle sized choice, larger than the CityX, smaller than the Uly. It's not radical, but it does give a choice. The problem is that now there is yet another nuance not another model. Dealers are already loathe to carry the models available. I would be surprised if it makes it to the floor only at the cost of another model. Seems that most places only put three or four on the floor. The rest get relegated to a dark corner in the back. What are the chances that you would see: Blast XB9R XB12R XB12S XB12SS XB12Scg XB9S XB9SX XB12X and the XB12STT on the showroom floor at the same time in any other dealership other than Dave Stueve's? And we aren't even talking about different colors. |

"Scrambler" comes to mind. Does not appear to have passenger pegs. I like it. |

Lowflyer, I bet the first year dependability will be less than subsequent models. (Message edited by ft_bstrd on November 13, 2006) |

That Variant is Lame. Buell really only has one bike and 8 versions of it. Some of the versions are hard to even tell apart for non-buellers. And for some unintelligible reason, they can't figure out that a large segment of thier customers are begging for a Sport Touring variant. For Chris-sake, how hard is it to take a lighting, give it the uly tail and luggage, and slap an S3Tish front fairing on it?! Gaddmanit, man. |

Naustin, Would that be a Buell "Sprint"? |

Why not just put an S3 front fairing on the ULY and be done with it? |

Either way, you end up with the same bike. That's what is so frustrating! You'd think it would be easy enough for Buell to figure out. No, Ft_Bastard, I'd name it the "wind storm". |

But you see what I'm saying. It would be the Buell version of the FJR, Sprint, Concours, Pacifica, etc. Fared bike, standard height, longer frame, higher fuel load, hard bags, triple tail. Call it the Vortex, Windstorm, Tornado, etc. |

Read back in this thread and i quote myself ****I think it's gonna be a Blast replacement based on a XB frame but taking it's styling cues solely from the early 80's era Ford Escorts. It will also have a banana seat and direct injection.***** DID I NOT CALL THE BANANA SEAT OR WHAT??!!!??? LOL |

"Call it the Vortex, Windstorm, Tornado, etc." I agree. That is, so long as they put the word "Flaming..." or "...of Fire" somewhere in the name. Either that, or go with a horse name like Palomino or Black Angus (except that's a cow - my bad). |

The real question is: does it make my butt look fat? I like the graphic on the seat too! Looks like a no passenger's symbol. |

That's not nice...you guys haven't even seen one in person yet. How 'bout ya just call it blow-job, at least until we all get to ride one at a demo event. OR.........considering we've got Preparations "A" through "G"....let's go with "Preparation "H" |

Some bikes when you first see them you simply think "WOW". See the Ducati Hypermotard as a reference. This one? Tough to say. BUT - we should all reserve judgement until we've seen it in person and/or ridden it. I had an opportunity to ride a friend's City X recently and I thought it was a wonderful bike, although down on power vs. a Ulysses (or so says my internally calibrated seat dyno). But it certainly was one cornering fool of a bike! Let's ride this new Buell before we pass judgement, eh? Otherwise we start to sound like the HD crowd.... Jim in Santa Barbara |
