Just got a call from Jerry...He was on the flight line at Nelis and he held up the phone so I could hear 3 F-22 Raptors take off at full afterburner! He had to cut the call short due to the fact that he was heading over to get up close and personal with a Raptor. God help us all if they give him the keys to it! |

Corso, You SUCK! I didn't get that call! Very very cool. Oh, and Ferris seems to have found his new home resting on the passenger seat of the Uly. Suppose we'll have to wait and hear D's thoughts on the passenger comfort of the Uly, but it is really nice to sit on the passenger seat and relax. Man that is a nice bike. Prior |

Actually the above pic's are mine, but I didn't realize that the last guy to use this commie-puter thingie was the infamous Ferris Bueller and he claims territory where ever he visits, just like the dog he is....... It was a real pleasure to ride with you and "D" and share our home and of course some of my favorite roads. T-Bear More GREAT photos tonight. |

Good reports T & Ebears. Speaking of re-routing, today's LA Times says there's a Triathlon on Sunday starting at 6:30 am in Venice Beach. Venice Blvd, where we are crossing over the canals at Dell St, will be closed until 10:45, but the barricades will be up most of the day. The alternative would be to take Abbot-Kinney Blvd instead of Dell. But that means no pix of bikes on the canal bridges, Phooey! I HOPE the area will be open and decongested when we arrive. Keepin' fingers crossed, Sparky |

Those pictures are *killing* me, sitting here, in my little tan cubicle in front of a computer, muttering over half a terabyte of compressed data and a perl script. Fly Ferris! Be Free! That Uly looks ***SO*** good in it's natural element. Wow. |

Ya' think? Wait until you see how GOOD it looks in MY garage on Sunday night! Madduck, keeping with the Uly-tide spirit and all you prolly want to have your Uly stored out here, eh? Hint, hint, hint. No sense trashing it in a midwestern winter, eh? Jim in Santa Barbara |

Jim, Getting it back to me is sort of next weeks project. Gonna be interesting working that out as Ferris is gonna be busy and summer is ending fast. Driving around a 49 state bike in CA would probably upset your law abiding nature to say nothing of destroying the air quality in So Cal. No No I could not ask you to do that!! |

Madduck, How did you know I have the *only* '96 S2 in CA that still has it's stock charcoal cannister in place? No offense to the "it's my right to pollute" crowd, but I've lived in SoCal long enough to both see and breathe the difference in air quality that CARB has forced upon the masses. I do think there are things CARB can do better, but they really have helped us breathe easier. Whether we all wanted to or not. And KUDOS to Erik Buell and the Elves for doing what the pundits said couldn't be done. That is developing an air-cooled, pushrod V-Twin that meets the stringent CARB 2008 specs. A bike that is FUN, VERSATILE *and* CLEAN!!! I may have to get one myself. I'll let you know what I think after I get a chance to see yours, Madduck. Best, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Jim, Remember back to 2002 when I was looking for a Ca carb for my bonneville boound S2?? We thought the Ca model might be more tunable and you were quite informatiove about the differences. I agree with you on the value of carb for you guys. I hate the fact that I get stuck with the same rules living in central MN as you live under. Take good care of Ferris and Denise. The pictures so far seem to indicate FB and D are enjoying the trip. Paul |

Madduck, naw I don't remember, but if anything I did helped, well, good! With 35.5 million "Kalleyfornians" as the Governator says, well we had to do something about the air out here. It was pitiful in the San Fernando Valley and believe it or not it is greatly improved these days. You can "breathe the difference" as they say. Of course we have no say in what goes on in other states so please don't get mad at us and as you can tell from the Fed's spending the state of CA is the "official ATM of the US Government". So it's not like our elected officials accomplish much for the State of CA (or for anyone else for that matter). I still like your bike and will take good care of it and the kids when they arrive. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Jim, My BMW's have all been legal for sale in California and yes the one I still have is still w/canister. Works well and hate to mess up that FI system by removing any components. Have been contemplating the canister as a mini glovebox tho> |

Guess who drove right up to the America The Beautiful Monument? Note the cord for the heated suit. THE MAN, at the Top of THE MOUNTAIN !! Hey, Ferris, I'll bet it doesn't suck being you! Was it the thrill of seeing The Uly effortlessly make it to the top, or the High of being with such Great Friends that made me feel so light headed?........Or maybe the alltitude?? "Bug Badges" worn proudly from the Cross-Country trip so far. Back down to Crystal Creek Reservour. Is that the Peace sign, or the Victory for having conquered "The Peak" ? That's all for now, but the batch will be "The Adventures of The Phantom Canyon Road". 30 plus miles of the most twisty, incredible and beautiful Dirt/Gravel road in this part of Colorful Colorado" Later, Tbear |

Ferris, Thanks for checking in, didn't get my usual phone call and was wondering. Ride safe, ride like the wind. I'm off to a dealer open house in the morning, with promises of 2006 Buell Demos... We'll see if that happens. I'll have some stories to convey none the less. Bet I'm the only Buell there, still covered with a few thousand miles of bugs and road grime... Think it's time for her third wash. |
