...with apologies to FB.

Let's see...moto content...well, these pix document the reason that I couldn't ride today!

Sorry about the quality. Downsizing from 3.5MB to 0.05MB takes its toll. Oh, and I haven't had a chance to view them on a CRT monitor yet...so I hope they look okay! At any rate...a pictorial essay on how I spent my first day of the New Year.

Happy New Year, BadWebbers.

Sometimes I think that if you go to Yosemite, hold a camera out the window of a moving car, point the camera at random and press the shutter you've got a pretty good chance of gettin' a beautiful scene...but thanks!

Elizabeth and I escaped to our somewhere else today. We rode out HWY 95 to Martinez lake. Along the way we came across this tiny church built by a farmer in memory of his wife. We paused and reflected. I thought of how special his wife must have been and how lucky I was to be there with Elizabeth

We departed and with the sky threatening rain we wondered if we'd reach the lake dry? But never fear...

I took in the view and some liquid refreshment

Man I've got to find a way to afford a house at the lake, like THIS ONE! Believe it or not that's one bedroom and the rest is for PARTIES!

We had a great time talking to the Californians escaping their reality and taking in the lake, but the bikes were chomping at the bit...

We hit Yuma's ONLY twisties exiting the lake and on S-24 which skirts the river. Along the way we took a pic in front of the Big Guns at Yuma Proving Ground (YPG).

This open area is where the soldiers earn there jump wings. There's a large cross in the field placed for those who landed a little too fast. I personally would be paranoid about hitting it. In the distance is Castle Dome, our closest semblance of Thunderdome...

Shortly after I took that shot, a beam of light seemed to illuminate my immediate area. I looked up and took this photo.

God is watching us!

Jerry,

Been wondering about the origin of your undoubtedly apt descriptor of home as "Thunderdome." Would that have anything to do with your personal intestinal/colonical proclivities? joker

It's not private anymore if there is thunder involved.

Just be warned, I'm pondering the solicitation of a new Tale Section reality series starring the musings of one who is privy to your personal life. What do you think of the title "Living with Thunder"? joker

careful Blake. : )
.... but FYI. The Dome is built into solid rock and insulated so well that even on the wildest of the wild nights (that would be as in thunder and lightening storm nights for those thinking otherwise) not a creak emanates through these walls.
and a good thing most of the neighbors are deaf.
