New laws in Ontario, Canada came into effect last Monday. Get caught doing 50 kph over the posted limit (about 30 mph) and they will charge you under the new Racing law. Expect to have you vehicle impounded for 7 day (at your cost, about $1000), license suspended and a fine from $1200 to $10,000 dollars. And the Cnd dollar is trading at 1.02 US today. Your insurance company gets notified and then you really get screwed. About 375 cars were impounded in the first week of the program and they are serious about this. They do not want anyone racing on the street in Ontario. I have this nice sweeper that I hit every morning on my way to work. At the end of the turn, I am always 50 over. Maybe it's time to start taking my wife's Blast to work. Blakers |

That's about what it costs here for 'racing', except there's an additional 6 points. Thank you for pointing out the fact that the American dollar is losing value. No need to ride the Blast(pretty fun bikes though), maybe just exercise prudent use of your right wrist...? Or, maybe enter the sweeper REALLY slow and then accelerate out of the apex up to the posted speed limit. Fun! |
