I haven't even owned my bike for a year and I find myself lusting after a Triumph Daytona 675. I've never ridden one, but I love the looks and can't help but sit on them when I see them in a dealer setting. I feel like so much of what I like about my Buell are the same reasons why I don't... Someone convince me I'm out of my mind. I like the Firebolt I have. |

You're not crazy. It's a great bike. If they put that 1050cc engine they have in the Speed Triple in a Daytona package, I will be the first to put my money down. I still do not understand why we haven't seen that bike released yet. |

Mac - I agree... the old Daytona came with both a middleweight and a litre-bike engine package. Are they expensive to maintain? |

Kiss your licence goodbye. It's a track bike with a GP crouch that is at it's best when close to doubling the speed limit. Great looking bike and a top performer, Love the way it goes - but as a road bike it has very little appeal |

"It's a track bike with a GP crouch that is at it's best when close to doubling the speed limit. " Just like an XB then ... If I was in the market for a 600 class bike I wouldn't consider anything other than a 675. |

>>Just like an XB then : )... << You must have a different XB to me. I find the XB's to be my favourite road bikes. Low end grunt and everything where I want it for road use. The triple is remarkably linear in power and torque delivery - but is at its most rewarding past 7,000rpm and 9 is honey. A track day marvel. But I spend under 20 minutes a year on a race track and try and ride on the road most days. |

Agreed... but it has a broad power band compared to many other 600's. It may not make "good" power across as much of it's RPM range as an XB12 but it certainly has the GP crouch, the excellent handling, the street usability (and by street I mean deep canyon road). It's all good . |

Hey - the exercise was talk the dude out of it, I reckon the 675 is superb. - but we're not allowed to say all that. |

Go ride the D675, you'll love it. I have an XB9S and a D675 and they're both great! Very different in many ways, but both are a hoot! |

That means I can buy one cheap... So the 675 has a more aggressive riding position than my Firebolt? |

I'd say yes, more aggressive but since your arse is up so high on the D675, there's way more weight on your wrists. That's about my only complaint except for maybe, the chain. God I love the Belt on my XB! |

I rode one this week in the Va mountains on some great twistie roads. It is a great bike that corners, stops & goes real good.It will heat your a$$ up & hurt your wrists. If you can handle that & ride on roads with NO cops.......I say get one.My friend that owned it rode my Uly & could not get that grin wiped from his face.It was real fun for me,but I like to ride all day & could not see me doing that on the Daytona.I wish my Uly had that kind of fuel injection because it was flawless. |

What about the Sprint? Does anybody have any saddle time on one? |

Wolf - I sat on a sprint (never got to ride it), and the that bike has hands down the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in. |

I think a demo will be in order... The one thing about getting off the Harley and getting on a Buell has opened my eye to how the bike rides not what other people think about it. BUT it would take a huge hook to get me off the Uly. |

after trying a 675 and the Street Triple on demo, i would stick to my 12scg. the 675 is uncomfortable after a short time and the street triple is nice, but the styling looks dated already with the cans under the seat, also dont go much on the huge twin headlights. give me a street triple with a small fairing to keep the wind off, as my '02 yamaha 600 fazer has, and the silencer down by the swingarm and i would think again. very nice power from the motor. just because its a british bike and im a brit doesnt mean its the best thing ever. the magazines over here rave about any new triumph. me i think all the triumphs are damned ugly. however they might build a bike i like one day. |

Wolf, check out these sites for pros and cons of new Sprints. www.triumphrat.net www.t595.net I have a 1999 Sprint St and it is a great bike, easy to ride and take care of, FI is flawless, I have the Tuneboy software to set the ecm anyway I want, highly recommend the earlier Sprints. New ones have some heat issues-- |
